12/7/17 #Tremblant Conditions

22(*) Open Trails on the Cooler, Recovering, Fast Slopes of #Tremblant .

With The Right Edges, Things Can Get A Little Blurry...

Fair to say... Tuned Gear makes a critical difference
for Enjoyment of Safe Levels of Speed and Control.

Mountain Crews are working Around The Clock, 24 hours a day, to
bring back Open Terrain ASAP, and they are doing a great job, as usual.
We have referred to it in the past as “The Quickness Of Quality” and
in the face of Mother Natures Infinite Power, no one can restore
optimal surface function quicker than the experienced Wizards of
Tremblant’s Mountain Operations Group.

From that standpoint, and from a broad, overall perspective...

Everything about Skiing and Boarding Relates to The Laws Of Physics.

It could therefore be argued that understanding those relationships can
be an advantage. More Specifically, a “Mechanical Advantage”.
Having a Mechanical Advantage for Mountain Guests in this case,
means the ability to possess a distinct or unique ability to maximize
performance characteristics within any given physical circumstances.

Minor Utility Rant...
(Please Ignore the following if you have Tuned Edges.)

For regular readers, please forgive us for repetition, for new readers and
as a reminder for all anyway... you need to bring sharp/fresh edges to Any
Mountain after a Thermal Cycle that results in any kind of Icy in the substrates.

"Do Not Bring Your Ferrari To The Track With Flat Tires."

Coming to Any Mountain without edges after a warm into cold
period, is just about the same thing.

Time and Time Again... we hear moaning about “Icy” when all that
separates you from a Great Day of Technical Skiing is the simplicity
of the Mechanical Advantage that tuned edges gives all Skill Levels.

The weird part for us is that we hear some of this feedback on Chair Lifts
from folks who’ve traveled great distances at considerable expense, who
can’t even remember what Year they last had their gear tuned, when
for Pennies on the Travel Investment Dollar, their Ski/Board Experience
can be 1000% safer and more enjoyable.

No one can do anything about the Weather(notwithstanding broader
philosophical issues associated with debate about “Global Warming”),
But... Anyone Can Cope Effectively with weather consequences with
the Mechanical Advantage that only comes with Tuned Gear.

Go And See The World Class Technicians At The Ski Shop Located
At The Base Of The Cabriolet, In The Chalet Des Voyaguers.

They Have A Discount Overnight Tuneup Special That Is A Crazy-Good Deal.

The Skis you see on the machine above are a pair of Vintage Atomic SL9’s.
We use them frequently and have The Ski Shop tune them when ever necessary.
A recommended guide for tuning is approximately 10 full days of use,
however that may vary up or down due to conditions. Mid-Winter intervals
that tend to have more pure snow days will last longer, Early or Late Season
with more Thermal Cycles may need more often attention.

Retrospective Sud, South, Park Review.

From 12.3.17
We had planned to go to the Alpine Bas, Lower “Progression” Park
to add to our previous Nord, North Park coverage for the overall
Park perspective. When we got to the entrance there was a very
animated group ready to go through so we asked for permission
to get some spontaneous pics.

You may have seen the first one a couple of days ago. It’s been a bit
of a challenge to process them because of the flat, low contrast light,
as well as the complex tree-filled background, so it takes numerous
adjustments and tweaks(a bunch of time too), to try to get them optimized.

We think we’ll get maybe 6 good ones out of the group.

Please keep in mind that we’re limited to relatively small Pic.file sizes at
around 1MB +/- for the Forum here, so the resolution is better on the orig. iPhoto.

Please also note that if you recognize yourself, you can contact us on F/B,
Twitter or email and we’ll send you the Orig.Big jpg files that are typically
between 2 and 5 MB.

Tremblant is getting back to Normal as quickly as possible.

Mountain Crews are motivated to deliver all the Open Terrain
they can for the up-coming weekend with the Annual Children’s
Charity 24 Hour Fundraising Marathon, as well as what they hope
to have Open for the Public.

There are HUGE Efforts now on both Versant Sud, South,
and Versant Nord, North Sides that look very favourable
with the return to Sub-Zero C’s.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
