It’s A Genuine Winter Re-Boot!

And... In More Ways Than One!

-The Value Of Abundant, Newly Fallen Fresh Snow To Trail Quality...
-The Wonderful Snow White Winter Look of Snow In The Trees...
-Cooler average daytime Temps and Steady Overnight Sub-Zero’s

(If you want more Chronology on this Very Beneficial Weather Event
from 48 hours ago, use the “Previous Topic” button, above, Screen-Right,
Tool Bar, to scroll back a couple of days to see how a Stat. 11cm’s can get
turned into Wind Drifted 40cm’s.)

What This Means For Beginners and advancing Intermediates...

is that the Level of refinement over the New Snow is going to benefit the
Glitch-Free consistency of Descent Lines both Laterally and Longitudinally
over the total Square Surface Area of all “Green” rated Trail Terrain.

In Other Words... Everything Is Going To Be Easier.

Ski Inserted to show Surface/Snow/Particle/Scale. The small clumps
of snow you see behind the Ski are very soft little bits of Snowflakes
that fall apart like dust. They are just part of the way that passing Skis
and Snowboards leave them when the Skis or boards are shredding
turns over top. They have a low level of internal humidity at this elevation,
but just enough they would still make good, hand-packable snowballs.

The sensitivity you may have previously needed to have to compensate
for either icy or slickness underfoot has been vastly reduced overnight.
In a relative sense to the immense overall Weather Factors humans
have had no control over in recent thermal cycles, there has always
been very good, basic, Green rated Terrain, as there is every single
day, but those warm/wet bits did generate glitches that as of “Now”,
are way, way, fewer, and of far less consequence. So, the “Forgiveness”
Factor, just went up about 10 notches in 24 hours.

For Experts...

Your Mogul Report du Jour...

Of Course... Experts can take care of themselves, so while
they can navigate on the fly much more easily, there is still
a critically important need to use cautious, and very conservative
speed and Line-of-Sight VFR protocols to avoid naturally occurring
Hazards that can pop up with short notice. Especially applicable when
they are not visually apparent because they may be between or below
moguls that you do not have X-Ray vision to see through as you
descend.

With This Much New Snow, Everyone At Tremblant Is A Winner.

Conditions Notes:

This Much New Snow Can Take A Couple Of Days To Fully Integrate.

If you find things a bit “Thick” and challenging to any level
of uncomfortable in Control Moves for Stopping, Braking,
or Steering, default down one level in Rated Trail Terrain.

Today’s “Get Real Proviso Clause”...

Additional Thickness wants Additional Muscle, so you may need
to pace yourself if out for the whole day... remember...
Fatigue can have a very sudden threshold of onset for
Muscle Cramps, or Lactic Acid buildup that may render
your physical response capacity to “Zero” in a spontaneous
Emergency. THIS CAN AFFECT EXPERTS TOO. We see many
Expert “Weekend Warriors” that try to go strong, too long...
and in some cases have worse outcomes because of the
Speed they thought they could handle... Words to the Wise...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)[/b]
