3/11/18 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

96(*) Open Trails On the Yet Again Snow’d On White Winter Slopes of #Tremblant .

Please Note: Mountain Open Hours Extended To 16:30(4:30p.m.)
for Versant Sud, South Side Gondola, and Versant Nord, North Side, Duncan Quad.

Another 9cm’s over an Official 7 Day Weekly Total of 32cm’s!!!

Nice!

For our American Cousins, that’s over a foot of snow this past week.

However, It’s Not That Simple...

The Story on the Snowfall does nothing but get better. The reason is
the wind. Wind causes “Drifting”, so while the Stat’s say one thing, we
can tell you for a fact, the way the Topographical Contours of the Mountain
exist causes Aerodynamic Anomalies of Air-Flow characteristics that
generate deposits of Snowfall into naturally beneficial, and larger amounts
than the Official Total.

For Experts that like the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glade and Un-Groomed,
this is a major asset that careful explorations will reveal. It would not be
unusual to find localized topographical contour Drift-in’s of double the Stat’s.

On the Groomed, all this new snow has rendered surfaces that are often
very suitable for Multi-Skill Levels to enjoy. Here’s what we mean by that
below on Johannsen, at the Resort base, where the difference between
Skier Style and Skill Level is obvious, yet equally obvious is the ease at
which both can have excellent descent experience. These conditions are
typically the most forgiving and versatile for the Groomed, which is a really
big benefit for the Intermediate Skier who hopefully is inspired to step up
technique refinement.

Please Note: Today’s Pic.File samples are based
on Forecast elements that include “Sunshine” icons
on the Current Conditions Display, but “Overcast” and
“Snowfall” icons on the Hourly Display. So-far, it’s
overcast, and frankly, it does not look even remotely
possible that the Sun is going to be around anytime soon.
We all know that can change quickly, but it just feels “Perma-grey”.

Page Under Progressive Assembly.
More later as time permits.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
