3/15/18 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

96/96(*) Open Trails on the very Snow White, Easy Winter Sub-Zero Slopes at #Tremblant .

61cm’s of Officially Recorded Snowfall In A Week!

PLUS...

We think it may be the longest period of sequential days of
“Easy” and Snowy Winter... Ever?

Can You Imagine Having To “Put Up With This” Almost Every Day ?!?!?!

Almost A Month!!!
... And 93cm’s of Natural Snowfall!!!

The temp’s have been incredibly close to, but just below
freezing, and if you wanted to find the last “coldest” day...

You would have to scroll back to February 17th, to find the last
daytime high of -5C, and almost every single Snowflake is still
right were it fell!

Talk about “Close” !!!

If you Were Able To Search Beyond Our 10 Years
of Archives....

We still do not think you could find such a stretch of recorded
weather that had the Daytime High Temp’s so close to Zero C,
yet leave the Mountains Elevations so well Snow’d, and virtually
untouched by significant Thermal Influence.

So, just in time to add some “Winter”, “Insurance”, Temps are
forecast to take a dip back down, and we think it’s Perfect Timing!(#)

Conditions Notes:

(#)Todays Conditions Notes have a particular focus on the potential
for the immediate future because of what we feel are going to be
the HUGE benefits of the forecast drop in the 24hr temp cycles
for the next 5 days.

The closeness to Zero C of the past month has blessed the natural
snowfall with a relatively high level of internal humidity. Where
Groomed into the Base, this has rendered a superior density to
the already solid base established by all those early season -20’s,
-30’s overnight lows. That's a great recipe for Excellent Durability.

A re-Boot to lower temps now should re-establish some depth
of Frost back into the Mountain after a month of duty insulating the
Base from beneath. The other potential is that the low overnight
Sub-Zero’s could “Cook” some of the Humidity out, rendering a
drier, lighter, more crystalline quality to all the freshly fallen snow.
Essentially, think of it as “Freeze Dried”, a Cryogenic Cold Shock
treatment that strips humidity out, and leaves a dry Crystal in place.
If that occurs the way we expect, it would be particularly beneficial
to the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glades and Un-Groomed Terrain.

Either way, we see the drop in temps over a sustained period of days
as a very significant asset to BOTH immediate conditions as well
as the durable quality of all Trail Surfaces.

We are entering into a period of Increasing Refinement
over all Groomed Skill Level Terrain that should escalate
from a pre-existing High Quality Level to potential
“Seasons Best” over the near-term.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
