Why we like and promote Tremblant Super Demo Days:

A):
We estimate that 50% of “Consumer” recreational(**)
Skiers are on the wrong skis. It’s just a guess, and we’re
likely wrong, although we think not far off.

The reason is that a big bunch of recreational Skiers
go to the “Theirtown” "Big Box Sporting Goods" Outlet
Centre and talk to the nice kid with the diamond in the
nose and a “Grateful Dead” tattoo, and based on a
work-sheet formula with 20 questions, they put you
onto a ski that “Fits” your “Profile”. Unfortunately, this
approach, although “Safe”, does not come nearly close
enough to accurately assess the appropriateness of
the formulated output to your real person skills, ability
or aptitude.

Only real, on-hill Demo’s can really get you close to
what is going to work best for you. Even if the Big
Box store can put you on a ski that fits the formula
and works for you to any degree, is it the right length?
Conversely, if they get you on the right length, is it actually
the best ski for your skills now, or in near future?

Any sensitive Skier can tell the difference between 5cm’s
in ski length and/or 1 metre in turning radius. You will
never know if you’ve got the optimum ski with the “Formula”
approach and it could easily be holding your potential back.

Demo Days allow the “A”/“B”/“C” back-to-back testing on
real snow, real trails, real conditions that no other form
of evaluation by any “Formula” or other means can render. Period.

If you are serious about Skiing, if you are serious about your
potential as a Skier, there is no substitute for real, genuine
skiing experience on the actual skis you are going to spend
upwards of between $500.00 to $1,000.00 +,+ on, if you buy
them new.

Why we like and promote Super Demo Days:

B): Additional points attached below.(**)

Otherwise...

O.K., so it’s a bit foggy this morning,
but it’s Snow Cloud that's forecast
to make natural Snowfall later today,
so we’ll take it.

Page under Progressive Assembly. It’s the last weekend
of the Xmas/New Year School Holiday period, so for those
regional Tremblant Fans who have to back to school or work
next week, do not waste a single second debating, just go
now if you can. There’s a TON of new snow, an excellent
selection of open trails, and super-easy temp’s.

Weather Notes:

We have had some questions about the temp’s so close
to Zero C today and forecast slightly above for tomorrow.
Our T360 forecast is that if the typical elevation differential
of -4C cooler at Summit and Versant Nord, North Side
prevail, there will be very little or no effects at all, besides
maybe some humidity related softness in surfaces.

In this case the forecast has also evolved to be completely
overcast for the warm period between now and Saturday
which is a big asset because the cloud cover should act as
an umbrella to keep unwanted solar energy off the precious
snow when temps are at, or within low single digits, of Zero C.

At least it will be early winter warm, so very, very easy
temps to work with for all-day outside physical exercise,
especially for Kidz of all ages who love to play in all the new snow!

Conditions Notes:
(With respect to actual Skill Level matching to rated terrain...)

So Easy A Caveman Could Do It.

(**)A) “Consumer” Recreational Skiers are typically
Intermediate Skill Levels with peripheral groups
on both sides of the middle, but bridging more
frequently into the Beginner category. Their
enthusiasm is usually greater than their experience,
however they are frequently driven by budget as one
of the largest components of decision making and
their expectations for product performance are not
well defined. In many cases, if it “Slides” , they’re
happy. To them we say: "You can be so much more
with some very basic, but specific equipment evaluating
like Demo Days!

B) The equipment stores at Tremblant represent a
significant step up in Applied Ski Product Knowledge
and Sales. This is where the degree of optimized ski
matching to owner capability is far more precise, due
in part to Tremblant’s Stores Staff who are so much
more experienced, as well as their ability to put the
customer on the Mountain with a variety of Skis in
sequential order for physical evaluation by the purchaser.
Super Demo Days can facilitate that process within a
handful of hours in one day.

C) Even If You’re Not Buying Today...
Research is homework for future purposes. If you
already own skis, you should be periodically researching
performance upgrades as a form of future product
selection. You may never be sure your ski style potential
is optimized unless you physically challenge your own
boundaries in a direct equipment performance comparison.
The sequential Ski experience on the latest designs can
illuminate equipment that you may identify as key to big
jumps in personal performance, and may therefore be
motivated to plan as future purchases. Chances are if
you can feel you’re actually faster, better balanced,
more in control, having a lot more fun, and...
it’s directly because of the skis you're testing,
you will want to own them sooner or later...

D) Genuine Experts may be excluded from some
of the “Consumer” related comments because they
have a more refined selection process based on
higher levels of experience and frequency of ski
days. However, Tremblant just happens to be one
of the few places that stocks both recreational
and FIS level Race Ski product and Pro Hors Piste
gear that you can access to variable degrees on
Demo Days as well as in the stores where high
performance gear is often available as rental/demo.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
