This Is Our One-Pic. Forecast For The
Basis Of Your Whole Ski Vacation Week,
For This And Next Week At Tremblant.

With just around 50cm’s or a foot and a half of fresh snow
in the last week, scenes like the Lowell Thomas trail-side
one below, will not be hard to find.

We are entering into the first period of the dedicated
Ski Vacation Season when the destination travellers
who are really serious about time on the slopes
begin to arrive.

Early January is technically “Low Season”, so
with the Mountain almost fully open, and very
light weekday traffic on the trails, it’s a great
value. We encourage anyone either individually
or as a group to look closely at this time as
prime-ski-time to easily exceed 20,000 vertical
feet per day with a dollar-costed average in the
bargain zone if you’re on a budget.

Notwithstanding the randomly odd “Thaw” event,
January weather patterns tend to be quite stable,
and when you look at the 2 week forecast below,
it is consistent with that, so we would expect to
see not only the additional natural snow, but
the few remaining trails not yet open, coming
on line soon.

Conditions Notes:

Very interesting Open Trail List this morning
that shows Nansen Bas, Lower, temporarily
closed and with active snowmaking, and even
more interesting to us, considering our remarks
from yesterday on Algonquin(Trail # 95), to find
active snowmaking there as well.

This is great local news as far as we are concerned,
as it indicates significant benefits for Beginners in
particular. Nansen Bas, Lower and Algonquin are two
of the very finest Green descents in Eastern North
America and every single snowflake invested into
their pathways is effort very well spent. These
are two examples of trails that can that can accelerate
the learning curve of Beginners far beyond what
is possible at most local Bunny Hills. This is due to the
fact that at 6 Km’s for the total Nansen descent, and
around 5 Km’s for the Algonquin descent, the length of
uninterrupted practice distance allows the most
impressionable group of Skiers to establish a learning
rhythm that is impossible to duplicate if you have
to stop and get back on a lift every few minutes.

The Trail # 39, Le Plateau snowmaking is important
for all the Ski-in, Ski-out groups utilizing Domain
De La Foret, so we also see that as a long term
utility upgrade for this specific zone. This is one
of the highest repeat Ski Holiday Guest areas at
Tremblant for exactly the reason of it’s all-day
accessibility.

Early January, after the Holiday Guests have to
go home, makes Tremblant an outstanding
destination value. This is due to the huge
pre-holiday trail development that has occurred,
but with lower post-holiday traffic volume.

For regional locals that can plan routine
attendance, your winter fitness season
goes into high gear right now.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
