1/23/19 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

T360 Apres Mid-Night, Apres Ski Edit @ 12:52 A.M.

All the excellence that was Tremblant today,
and across all Skill Level Rated Terrain, is summarized
in one way or another with this picture below, because...

The Snow Just Keeps On Piling Up At Tremblant.

Moving Forward...

People are all worried about the Weather tomorrow,
don’t... there are too many tipping points, so all we can
do is hang on and go for the ride. At these numbers,
things could go either way....

It should be noted that as a matter of proactive
risk reduction, the Gondola Cars have been
un-cabled to prevent any freezing rain covering.
This is a “Just In Case” measure that can mean
hours of difference in maintenance compared to
having to manually remove ice load, if the cars
are left on and exposed to a thick coating of freezing rain.

More in morning!

The Current Groomed Base Is In Spectacular Condition.

Yesterday was definitely one of the top 5,
“Front-Side Carving” days of this season.

And, with More New Snow, today should be either same or better...

We specifically include “Fast” in the top line of today’s report
because the super-cool snow of the just past deep freeze was
high relative friction, and that friction is all gone.

We not only got the speed back, but the “Glide” factor is
right back where it should be at “Excellent”, so overall
the performance levels are completely restored. All these
positive attributes are over a near-immaculate groomed
trail array including all skill level rated terrain.

It is possible, if you have the muscle to do it, to carve
almost everywhere. Even the “Black” Expert groomed
terrain is in spectacular condition, wide, fast and smooth.

From summit to base on all sides, the performance was
remarkably consistent and we think it will be very much
the same, if not better, today.

Weather Notes:

Some, even “Numerous” folks we know are quite
concerned about the rain icons in this forecast, but
we say... It’s too early to know for sure, however,
if the temps forecasted here for the Sud, South, Resort
Base stay at a high of +3, then the cooler Mountain
elevations at the usual -4 C cooler, should be O.K., and...
there is even some probability the precipitation over the
Mountain itself, could be snow.

Unfortunately, we have to include this:

All we can say on the above is that this event is not
predictable in dimensions, and the current models
suggest the bulk of the active weather may be over
Montreal and the river, so there’s a change we may not
see much, or any of it.

Conditions Notes:

More Overnight Snowfall,
Plus... another Night-shift of grooming,
gets you...

Superb Family Time Conditions!

Additionally: People we know are raving about the Sous Bois,
Glades, Hors Piste and un-groomed, so we’ll do our best to
get some pic’s in some of those zones today...

The bottom line is:

It’s beautiful, genuine, fully mature “Winter” and
worth every ounce of effort you can make to be here
if you can safely make it today.

The Up’s and Down’s of any normal winter
are inevitable.

So We Say...

"Them that adapts the quickest, has the most fun!"

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
