The skiing Should be sooo good, that it will make you forget
the “KKKkkool” part!

Notwithstanding the super-cool temp’s this morning,
the Ski/Board experience is going to dramatically shift
in a positive, user friendly way, during the course of the
day with a projected rise of 13 degrees C from where
we’ve seen the thermometer on the deck at early this A.M.,
under a very clear, very sunny sky.

As a functional bonus, the wind is forecast to be moderate
so there will still be some wind chill effect, but there will
also be almost instantly felt Solar Energy wherever you can
find direct sunshine in any safe, wind sheltered, trail-side
location.

Of course, the necessity for adequate outer garment layers
and zero exposed skin is absolutely essential for not only
comfort, but at this early morning temp., it’s your personal
health as well. This is when frostbite can happen to even
slivers of exposed skin. For only one example, the tiny/small
gap that can occur between your helmet an the top edge of your
goggles can generate a frostbitten strip of skin across your
forehead in less than 5 minutes of descent speed that you’ll
be peeling off for the next 3 weeks. You may not even know
its happening until Apres Ski, so pay extra attention to those
kinds of details before you head out there.

Above and Below: These are scenes from 1.28.19 that
was very similar to today in weather factors, and we think
they are a great forecast for exactly what you should find
all day at Tremblant today.

This is real, genuine “Winter” snow at its very best levels
of performance and ease that we have had for several
days since then, up to today, and should continue on
for the next 3 days over this weekend.

Conditions Notes:

In the Groomed Terrain:

This is exactly the kind of day where you can get carried away
with enthusiasm when you find how exceptionally fun, fast, and
easy it is to control all descent forces in this “Squeaky-Cool”,
Cryo-Snow that has had a Mother Nature “Freeze-Dried” treatment.

It is our opinion that especially for “Frontside Carving”, but ultimately
for any style of skiing on groomed trails, there is no snow that performs
as well as the unique speed and handling properties of very cold snow.

In the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, and Un-Groomed:

The situation is that we’ve basically had a metre, about 40 inches
of new snowfall in 10 days. The result is the kind of big jump into
the East Coast “Fantastic” range, when compared to historical averages
for this date.

All you need to do is watch out for the trees if you’re flying
through the bush...

Weather Notes:

Much Easier In The Afternoon!

If you would like to review additional weather detail for this time
period, read through previous date/topic postings in this forum.
The weather has been the news due to record setting low temp’s
that can be associated with the latest NOAA Graphic’s referencing
late Jan to early Feb. in the file above.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
