---------- Noon Update --------------

Thank goodness for small miracles as
Mother Nature cracks the temp forecast
@ -8 C by shortly after 12:00 P.M.
We thought it was important to include this
pleasant surprise considering the dramatically
cool early morning start to the day.

-----------------------------------------

-31C @ 6:55 A.M., Forecast Rise To -22C @ 9:00 A.M., -10C @ 2:00 P.M.
That’s A 21C Rise!

As cool as it can be, everyone stops to admire the beauty...

We need to start out by saying that this run of cold
mornings is a statistical anomaly. It is not like this
normally at this time period, but...

Once again we have a case of the actual temp.
being substantially lower than forecast.

Of course, technically speaking, the Skiing will be excellent.
“Squeaky” Cold Snow is uniquely fine as a groomed base,
the challenge is to be able to access it within comfortable
tolerance for a couple of hours. Another strategy might be
to sleep in, have a brunch with strong coffee at 10:30, hit
the slopes just after 11:00, and stay out all day. Doing it
the second way gets you similar vertical, but in a far more
user-friendly environment.

Weather Notes:

Cool as it may be for First Tracks, warmth should
quickly generate with the sun as it rises, so all
we can do is either bundle up, or hang in there until
it’s more comfortable. If you are one of the brave
first tracks persons, this afternoon will seem hot!

Here is additional weather info. as it pertains
to the recent early morning/overnight temp. anomalies
and ongoing winter elements:

Conditions Notes:

This is a legitimate First Tracks “Bundle Up” scenario.

-31C certainly rates as Cool, and as a result, there may be
some noticeable friction in initial surfaces up to about 11:00 A.M.
As soon as Mother Nature cooks up some Solar assistance,
the glide should noticeably improve. That improvement may
be zonal over the Mountains footprint until around 1:30 P.M.
when there should be enough ambient atmospheric warmth
to get back a more universal reduction in the cyrogenic-snow
friction of First Tracks.

In the mean-time, Zig-Zag should be easy!

We continue to observe there may be less than usual
Quebec Spring Break traffic, so if you’re sitting in
Ottawa, or any other regionally close place, get off
your butt and head out to Tremblant ASAP for
some serious vertical.
