We had a Great day today! There was virtually no traffic.
It was definitely a “Walk-On” lift scenario, and an all day
“Private Club” where we had to wait minutes for people
to appear, and in some cases, we got tired of waiting and
ended up having to take pic.s of empty trails when no one
shows up. It was a challenge to have people in the frame
for these three pic’s.

Today was a classic example of our 80% rule, where
the Mountain is about 80% better than the forecast might suggest,
and specifically for todays’ rainy forecast... other than a
few early sprinkles that were gone in 5 minutes... not
a single drop of rain fell during open hours and evidently
it was a huge mistake to not come out today if you could
have. The conditions were exceptionally well groomed,
and we had Corduroy descent lines All Day Long Including
Last Run! Fabulous!!!

The Jury Is Still Out On Tomorrow...

We need to wait and see because there are some possibilities
the weather forecast could be wrong...

It’s Time To Jump Into Action For The Season Finale...

((#) We estimate our success rate with spontaneous action
shots is between 15 to 20%. The combination of moving subjects
photographed from moving lifts renders even higher failures and
unpredictable results, down to less than 10%, so most are unusable,
however... When we “Luck Out”, like we think we did with this one
above, it makes all those attempts worth every single effort due
to the uniqueness of the moments captured.)

The picture above is representative of what Experts were
doing all day at Tremblant yesterday, and what they can do
today, on the Un-groomed, open mogul terrain. This is
pure Spring bump performance and if you have the skills
and the muscle, you can spend half your day in the air if
you want to.

In the Groomed open terrain, todays conditions may
actually be quite noticeably better than yesterday,
just because there is virtually no traffic. It may well
be a case where what’s groomed does not get skied out,
or mogul’d up when comparatively speaking, there’s no one using it.

Too Cute For Words...

A Happy Couple...

Your Selfie’s Will Always Be Great At Tremblant!

Taken from the Expo Quad as it crests over the final rise to
the top of the Expo Sector Peak, we saw this happy couple
so obviously enjoying the moment and we thought there
was a great opportunity to put their Selfie into perspective
that any visiting guest couple can relate to. When you see
the magnificent backgrounds that make every scenic Tremblant
pic. so special in the second one, you’ll understand why we just
have to put these 2 pic’s in from yesterday’s Super-Sunny afternoon...

Back to today...

A much different day of atmospheric conditions,
but, as we said above, groomed Ski conditions might
be better with far less traffic to generate wear factors.

Notwithstanding the weather conditions that may need
individual adaptations today, and from day to day, we all
only have a handful of days left to jump into Ski/Board action.

Of those final remaining days, the next 2, today and tomorrow,
are the most likely to need those adaptations and we elaborate
on them below in the Weather Notes section below.

In the meantime, todays Open Hours could actually remain dry
over any portion of the Mountains footprint, and to variable degrees,
as the forecast shows rain as “Light”, and specific periods of dryness
during the middle of the day.

Weather Notes:

We want to categorically state that atmospheric conditions that
can include “April Showers” are incredibly easy to overcome
with 2 basic items, namely the Descente Poncho to stay dry, and,
a pair of Hardware Store Yellow Lens Industrial Safety Glasses to
restore visual contrast for contour definition in flat light.

People laugh at us when we say that we have had some
of our very best, and enjoyable, Ski days, in the rainy bits
that can, and do happen in every spring, but it is true.

Technically, considering the clinical assessment of the Skiing
as separate from the atmosphere, the snow is wonderfully
soft and easy to navigate in the majority of descent lines.
Spring “Corn” Snow is typically like having billions of tiny
ball bearings underfoot, and also typically, traffic is so light
that we often get to ski Corduroy Groomed lines all day because
the thought of a few drops freaks most of the public out
and they just don’t come out, so it’s like having your own
private club.

For those of our close Ski-Buddies that like super-soft moguls,
there are very few times that will equal the malleability, meaning
soft and easily pushed through, qualities of the un-groomed bump
terrain that’s open when the weather is warm and “Damp”.

The necessity of the Poncho and yellow glasses may or
may not be critical for today, but this is your “Heads Up”
advisory/notice for some probability today, and by current
forecast, certain probability for tomorrow.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
