In yesterdays report we wrote: "we think you’ll see a significant level of
restored Open Trails recorded tomorrow...”

We think we got that right with the Open Trail jump from 48 to 70!

On top of that...

WOW...!!! If you are one of the few regular readers here who
are as keen, sincere and appreciative Tremblant Fans as we are,
you may be able to figure out the key to understanding the
brilliant recovery Mountain Op’s has managed to execute.

You get 10 Gold Stars if you can look at this pic. below, and correctly
name this trail(before you look at the pic.file label), as the very most
significant indicator of overall Mountain recovery and refinement.

The Big Hint:

From our File Shot Archive, this is
our One Pic. Forecast for quite close
to exactly what you should be able to
ski right now at Tremblant.

The significance of this recovery element within the Groomed trail
array can not be overstated.

It is a rare and beautiful thing.

Define “It”.

“It” refers to the simultaneous grooming of
our most treasured Versant Nord, North Side
“Canaries In The Coal Mine”, the three most
important clues you will ever get to the
overall status of open, groomed, refined trail
recovery in a post adverse-weather cycle.

The Ultimate Groomed Trail Refinement Possible:

Trails # 64, Marie-Claude Asselin, #65, Banzai, #66, Le Tunnel,

Though They Be Small In Square Area And Length...

They Be HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, Most Positive, Excellent News
Because Of Their Symbolic Status Within The Highest Levels
Of Overall Mountain Refinement!

Bravo/Merci Tremblant Mountain Op’s!!!

Even though the three trails you see above are literally easy
when freshly groomed, most recreational Guests with average
skills will never see these magnificent pure fall-line descents
(all 3 of them are architecturally pure fall-lines as they were
originally T-Bar surface lift lines.), because they are off the beaten path,
out of the way, labeled as Black Diamonds, look too narrow, look too
steep, their friends never go there, etc., etc., etc. for excuses, HOWEVER...
that does not diminish their technical merit or clinical excellence in any way,
shape or form.

No photograph can do them justice, no Snap-Shot can capture their magic
and there is no substitute for experiencing their simple, brilliant, magical
beautiful Ski/Board descent experience when freshly groomed.

Only Mother Nature can make a Granite descent line topographically flow like a river,
and these 3 trails groomed will prove that beyond a shadow of a doubt today.

Otherwise, a sunny, spectacular, classic Tremblant Long-Distance
View day when you can almost see forever!

This is a file shot from last week that’s as close as we can come to a forecast
for today at 5:59 A.M., so with luck, you’re going to be able to see this same
POV for yourself today on the Mountain.

Conditions Notes:

We feel very confident about the absolute certainty
of excellence within the Groomed Trail array that should
span the entire range of available Green’s, Blue’s and Black
Skill Level challenge ratings.

Everything we have referred to in the opening portion of this post
is the core of that certainty. Mountain Crews at Tremblant are not
in the habit of wasting time or resources, so when we see those
precious Icons on the Official, Downloadable PDF, we know from
decades of observations that a true benchmark of trail development
has been attained.

On top of that... it's a very light traffic, mid-week work day, so
there should be just about zero wear stress on anything.

In the Sous Bois/Glade/Hors Piste and Un-Groomed categories,
it may be a different story. In theses areas it is a far more A’ la carte,
i.e., case-by-case, individual trail condition situation, simply because
the fingerprint of Mother Nature on the actual state of any one location
is unaltered from the evolved accumulative effects of weather. In these
sectors, initial descents need to be undertaken with appropriately reduced
speed and highly attentive focus for hazard awareness within any descent
path. It is not a coincidence that the Sous Bois/Glades/Hors Piste/Un-Groomed
are the category of trails that still have a high percentage closed after the
recent adverse weather.

Take a deep breath and relax.

The clues in the Official Trail Status today
are everything completely positive you need
to know about the overall health of the groomed
Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network at Tremblant.

We do not think any blip’s in the short term weather
will alter that either, there’s just way too much frost
in the base as an effective stored refrigerant.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
