We think this Weekend’s the Colour Peak of the Season!

We think the Tremblant Fall Colours are reaching their peak over the next
handful of days.

Some of our Local Friends agree that the Colours are about two weeks later
than usual, but what that really means is that if you can visit in the near
future, you’ll have the best of the Fall Season to view.

Appreciation of the Fall Colour change is somewhat subjective because
some people think colours may be better when there is no deciduous green
left at all, while others, such as ourselves, think that the most attractive stage
is when there is a range of colour that still includes some of the green for contrast.

Another reason we like to see green still in the deciduous tree leaves is that
the fullness of the trees has not yet been eroded by wind or rain that can
quickly strip off fully turned leaves that have weaker attachment to the trees.
In the later stages of the Fall Colours, while there may be little or no green
left, there are also a lot more barren trees and branches. The first to turn are
the first to loose.

The Walking, Hiking, Biking Multi-purpose Trails are in excellent shape
and in the cooler Fall temp’s are easy to dress for in light layers for
adjustment.

You can spend hours outdoors in what could arguably be considered
as the best possible conditions for exploring Tremblant by foot.

There is a rich lushness and density to the foliage right now and the Resort
Village has that as a background in every direction you look.

The trip up the Gondola is quite like Mother Natures Kaleidoscope as the
colours continuously scroll by in an infinite variation of tone and intensity.

The Gondola is not the only way up or down...

If you have the time and the physical ability, there are very few forms of
outdoor activity in this season that can rival the benefits of Hiking the
Mountain. You can go up, down and all around and the superlative array
of natural colour surrounds you from the first to the last steps. The exercise
is excellent and there are at least two logistical reasons we think it’s the very
best Tremblant Hiking of the whole year, namely...

1) The temps are cool enough to keep you from overheating as you expend
energy hiking up a significant slope.

2) There are virtually no insects to “Bug” you, a definitely favourable
factor compared to the warmer seasons of Spring and Summer past.

While the colours now are very fine, it’s hard to believe that with the first
week of October coming to a close, that the prime viewing is still to follow,
although not by more than a handful of days now.

If you are Regional Tremblant Fall Fans, you’ve still got a great
opportunity to see this seasons very best colours over the next
week or so.
