Warm Up To Summer
At Tremblant!

Winter's in our memories, but Spring and
Summer are definitely in the air!

After a great Ski Season, (Thanks again Tremblant!) it takes a while
to shift gears mentally and get into the swing of the Summer Season.
Walking through the resort village the May 21st weekend, we saw this scene with
the "First Tracks" Pro-Mo still up, with flower blossoms, green leaves
in the background and thought that pretty much sums up the
Winter/Summer transitional mind set. Time to take up
those "other" sports, you know, all those outdoor sports that don't
need either winter or snow!

For many years we did not think as much about going to Tremblant
for summer sports, just because we tended to think about it as
primarily a winter destination, but that has certainly changed as the
resort's roster of warm weather spring, summer, early fall activities
have been expanded tremendously. There's almost non-stop action
at the resort from now right on through to October.

Tremblant has evolved into a significant summer destination and there
is no doubt that the beauty of the area is just as magnificent in the
warm seasons as it is in winter, but summer has that basic warm
advantage that means you don't need a lot of sophisticated layers,
or the complex equipment of the winters Alpine Snow Sports
to have fun outside. So, in a way, Tremblant's beauty is more accessible
to all ages from now until mid-fall.

You can hike all over Tremblant for free. The exercise is fantastic and the
views are Tremblant Beautiful!

We were privileged to be able to cover the Mountain Bike competitions
at Tremblant over the long May weekend, so we'll get that up in a separate
topic here soon, but we can tell you right now, Tremblant is an
excellent place to bring your trail bike to!

While the Mountain and the Resort were buzzing with activity, you did not
need to go too far away to see aspects of the more relaxed summer lifestyle
that the Tremblant region offers.

There may have been traces of snow still visible
on the Mountain, but there's no mistaking the signs a "Hot" Summer
Season that's just getting started!

The Tremblant.ca Summer "Things To Do" on-line PDF
brochure continues to be the best single source of information
you can get to access the vast array of activities on and around
the Mountain.

This excellent document can be downloaded on to your computer
for handy reference and we recommend that you do that as the
basis for your planning homework for a Tremblant summer visit.

The file is 22.6 MB, so it will take a couple of minutes or so
to load depending on your connection speed, but it absolutely worth
it to get this comprehensive 76 page "One Stop Shopping" guide
to all the variety offered. Spending time reviewing the content
will help maximize the use of time as well as complete budgeting
and accommodation selection.

We'll be adding topics to the Summer of 2011 section here,
most notably will be examples like the "Blues Festival", Golf,
Bobby Rahal's "Legends of Motorsport", Vintage car activity,
as well as what could arguably be the crown jewel in the
"warm" seasons activities, the Lance Armstrong/Cedars Cancer
Institute "Tour de Lance" that takes place on the second weekend
of Sept.

As usual, if you have things you want to add or talk about, we
welcome, and would very much appreciate your contributions, so
please either sign in or sign up and let's talk about a "Hot" summer
at Tremblant!
