From Chemin Nordet, the Highway that runs from Tremblant’s Nord, North
Lac Superieur side, to Saint Donat, the following 3 stage telephoto sequence
shows the the ongoing construction of Alpine Trail Snowmaking on the visible
upper, Versant Nord, North Side potions of the Mountain. The second and third

One very favourable aspect of the following Zoom-in looking up
Beauchemin Bas, Lower, is the Quality of the Blown Snow Particulate.
The Snow condensing in the Sub-Zero C atmospheric conditions is
a very fine and dry crystal when it lands on the ground. Attachment:

There are 2 things we need to review in the Above Photo...1) The Descent path from the Mountain Mid-Point to base is
quite visibly obvious from the TGV Quad Base, down Beauvallon
to the top of Johannsen, which is the front facing trail down into
the centre of the Resort Village.
2) The largest, visible, single building is the grey “Fairmont Tremblant”,
seen on the outboard left side of the Resort Village. Directly behind
that is the “Flying Mile” Sector, which rises about half Mountain in the
foreground. Behind the “Flying Mile” are the Summit Sector portions
of Beauvallon/Alpine and Nansen Trails, where there is active snowmaking
seen as small fuzzy white spots on the upper Mountain.
Pertaining to #2 above, the Photo Below... is taken from a higher
elevation vantage point in the Old Village of Mt. Tremblant, from where
we can Super-Zoom in to get a better look at this Summit sector of
Versant Sud, South Side Snowmaking for Opening Day. Trail Detail
as Annotated within the pic.

(A Note To Tremblant Park Fans, Re:
Above, Top Left Pic.File AnnotationWe do not have any exact confirmation for this season yet,
but the Park Modules installed on Lower Alpine in the Official
Adrenaline Park Zone on Opening Weekend last season were the
most developed we have ever seen for the first days of any
season.
Based solely on the Snowmaking visible towards the bottom of Alpine,
we can only theorize Mountain Crews would be trying to replicate
a similar opening this year, so if you’d like to review that, go to our
Mountain Conditions Archive for last years Opening and scroll through
for the pic. recorded there for Nov. 27.16. Of course it’s too early
to guarantee anything yet, but for many years now, there have
been Park Modules for Opening and this year should be no exception.
)Below is a zoom-in detail showing a lateral view across
Beauvallon/Alpine and over Nansen. The wooden fence
you see is the Nansen “S” descent path that is the Green
trail, alternate way down that bypasses the Blue rated,
steeper “Pitch”.

This view above may change in the peripheral dimensions
because it’s still “Fall”, and Trail-side snow may or may not
stick, but the obvious scope of Johannsen Trail Coverage is
very well established. If current forecasts hold true, we
think there will be more than adequate snow resources here
to meet Opening Day goals.

REPEAT:
Mountain Crews are not in the habit of wasting time, labour or
financial resources, so this very evident commitment of huge
logistical support for initial Summit to Base Skiable Terrain is
one of the very best, completely positive, indicators of a rare
abundance of potentially available terrain for Opening Day of
Winter Alpine Ski Season 2017/18.(Please note: Topic under construction,
additional to follow up to Opening Day.)
