Trail # 84 Cossak, North Side, Expo Quad Summit Sector

Post by T360 »

.

Trail # 84, Versant Nord/North Side Cossak.

Cossak is a double Black Diamond run that
has a steep but consistent pitch over its
length that runs in a South-Easterly diagonal
from the immediate right of the Expo Summit
as you face downhill.

It has a very slight right hand bias to the fall-line
but the very uniform pitch makes it a favourite
for Experts. Most often found with moguls, but when
winch groomed and/or with any significant powder,
can show a much different, very much fun character.

It terminates at the Duncan to Expo cat-track where it
offers users descending the options of bearing right to
lower # 63, Les Rapides, or turn left to get onto Expo's
lower run-out.

Showing here below:

As seen from Duncan Quad Chairlift, Up-bound on way
to Summit.

The lower sector of Cossak as it arrives at the Duncan
to Expo "side door" cat-track access.

It should be noted that Cossak is frequently left as a mogul run as
illustrated by the top pic included above. Cossak also frequently falls
into a category of mogul listed trails we call “Recently Groomed” which
is an important distinction compared to trails listed as moguls that
never get groomed as moguls left to form over a levelled base are
typically more even, with fewer hazards.
