It ended up a lot Warmer, Overcast and Fantastic Snow.

12 Hours ago it was -35C at South Base Level.

Now,according to the Summit Web Cam, it's -15C.

So, from this mornings temps...

That's a 20 degree C Rise/Spread. That's a 36 degree F Rise/Spread.

Amazing. Equally amazing is that when it's that cold to begin with,
20C, 36F, does not seem like that much when you're outside in it...
i.e., "Cold" feels "Cold".

The warming trend will continue on and peak on Friday.

Apres Ski Web Cam Snap Shots...

1) Continuing Snowmaking on Soleil.

53(*) Open Trails on tomorrows PRELIMINARY list.

SUBJECT TO MORNING CONFIRMATIONS.

PRELIMINARY LIST Attached below in Reply.

--------------------- 8:35 A.M. Orig. Post ------------------

47(*) Open Trails on the Frosty, Crisp and Really Kool Slopes of Tremblant.

After a Night Like This....

Overnight Low last night @ -35 C, 31 Below Zero F,

There's nothing like the Deep Blue/Rose hued Sunsets of these
recent Very Cold, Sparkling Clear nights. Add in the Moonrise for
even more magic.

It's a "Bundle Up Cold Weather Warning Morning" @-33 C South Base
Resort Level and the Summit will be cooler by 3 to 5 C. With even a small
breeze, wind chill amplifies the effects so NOT EVEN A SLIVER OF EXPOSED
SKIN... this morning, at least.

The "Wind Chill" is also technically speaking, created by your "Air Speed"
as you descend down Tremblant's Super Smooth, Super Fast, Super Corduroy,
Super Highways of Pure Winter Alpine Snow Sport Perfection. The Thrill of any
Speed this morning can divert your sensitivity to cold. For a good and common
example, if the tip of your nose is exposed, you may not notice it until too late,
so pay attention to details Before you go into Warp Drive.

TEMPS ARE RISING RAPIDLY TODAY UP TO -16 C, as Cloud and SNOW
move into the region.

Our Recommendation: Take frequent "Hot Chocolate" breaks until it gets easier.

The Skiing and Boarding will be Out-of-this-World Excellent.

At these temps, you may actually feel a bit of resistance in the
smooth surfaces because the Micro-Friction that edges normally
generate to create a molecular thin layer of lubricating water
can not occur the way it usually does, at temps down at/below
about -30 C or so.

We have fun on these mornings because with a bit of resistance
you can actually tackle steeper slopes more directly down the fall-line,
so runs like Kandahar, Taschereau, and McCulloch are a "Hoot" to
attack in an aggressive way when Mother Natures little "Kool" braking
effect exists.

Kandahar File Shot from last Friday...
This run will be a Ton 'O Fun Today!

If your Skis/Board are waxed for "Cold", then you'll have an advantage
over about 90% of regular people who do not go to any great effort
for temperature appropriate base preparations. "Cold" waxed Skis
and Boards will fly by everyone else if there's cold induced resistance.

We Recommend that you take your Skis/Boards to the "Wizards Of Fast"
at:

The Chalet des Voyageurs Ski Board Service Shop, located at the base of
the Cabriolet, South Resort Parking Level.

Above: Temperature Appropriate Wax is being Heat Friction Buffed into
the micro-pores of the Ski base for optimal surface finish quality.

Seriously...

...these Technicians are absolute Masters of Ski Board Base Preparation

AND THEY ARE NOT EXPENSIVE!

As We Reported... in last night's Apres Ski....

They've been blowing Snow on the Soleil Sector for about 5 days now.

(See Above "*" symbol beside Trail Names on Soleil Sector Trail List)

As we understand it, Soleil's Snowmaking Equipment requires
temp's lower than -15 C to function, so with the Mini-Deep-Freeze
we've been having, production should have been very good over the
entire time.

Add In... OVER Half a Metre of Fresh Natural Snowfall during
the same time, and we're thinking Soleil could be not too far away
from Opening ???

We have no Official notice, but the "Evidence" eerrrr... SNOW is Adding Up!!!

Additional Weather notes: A wee Spike in the temps is forecast
that will peak on Friday at a degree or two above freezing,
so the rest of the week is going to be progressively warmer
and easier to handle.

Pg Under Evolutionary Construct. Thanks for your patience!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
