61(*) Open Trails on 3 sides of Tremblant.
(Please Note: coverage to be expanded as time permits with X-mas
activity/travel/chores etc., etc.)
We ran this in last eve's Apres Ski and we're including it
again here because it's an excellent summary of the Groomed
Terrain at Tremblant right now.
Here's an Un-Groomed sample that is available right now.(**)
(**) Un-Groomed Samples Subject to change without notice
and can/may/will likely be different from moment to moment
depending on traffic and popularity.
The Joy's of discovery in the Un-Groomed, Experts Only are
like Christmas Presents Under White Winter Decorated Trees
and the surreal, almost Black and White of Mother Natures
Beauty has been Breathtaking.
A quick look at why Tremblant Conditions are what they are....
Before: (2 weeks ago)
After: Yesterday at Last Run.
At the time of this posting, the pic. above is less than 14 hours old @
Last Run, Dec. 23rd, 2013, P'tit Bonheur, Trail-Side Within 2.5 Metres.
That's what happens after 3... 4... 5.... ???
.....we lost count, WINTER STORM WARNINGS
What This Means To You If You're Not Here Right Now...
Things will be Very Fine When You Arrive.(***)
(***) Given the Typical, Winter Weather Patterns remain only average.
If they continue to be Above Average, as they are now, "Very Fine"
will be Upgraded accordingly.
Moving on...
Our Apologies to the Ski Patrol for being late off the North Side
yesterday due to a binding malfunction that had one heel-piece
randomly releasing while under way at Last Run.
After multiple unexpected releases, at one point it caused a tumble
and we realized it was unsafe to continue, so at the bottom of P'tit Bonheur,
we started Hiking.
By the time we got down to Le Tendre at the Edge Base level,
(Beauchemin Bas was closed with Snowmaking, more on that
directly...), we were "Rescued" by a Friendly Ski Patrol Person
on a Ski-Doo and spared the rest of the hike to the North Base.
"Postcard" Sized image of the one we ran in Apres Ski last eve.
Merci Ski Patrol.
Beauchemin Upgrade:
The "Silver Lining" in our "Delayed" cloud was that we had not been by there
earlier and we learned that Lower Beauchemin was Closed and has
serious Snowmaking going on across the upper pitch adjacent to the
Edge Entrance.
For the past few days, this has been an icy sector that we commented
on in Conditions Caveats. Evidently, Mountain Crews have been sensitive
to those conditions also, and have undertaken significant efforts to improve
this area.
Sorry for this reduced size, grainy image, but low light
Camera auto settings chose a very high ISO and this
is what came out. While not a great pic. by any means,
it does show the upgrade in progress, so when this section
re-opens, considering all the added fresh natural Snowfall too,
it should be close to perfect.
Todays Weather:
Sunny!... and back to Winter Crisp Temp's at -20 C,
rising up to -15C. Moderate Nor-West breezes, so you'll
need to bundle up compared to last few days.
------- Conditions Caveats: --------
There are lots of Soft Zones that can result in uneven surface
resistance factors.
Choose Terrain realistically within your Skill Level.
Be careful with Speed and allow extra room for safety.
Obey ALL Posted On-Mountain Signage.
CAUTION: Holiday traffic can mean beginners and guests new
to Tremblant, so be patient.

Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
