1/10/14 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

65(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sides of Tremblant.

First things First....

Today is going to be an Excellent Day

at least comparatively speaking...

What we mean by that is when all all the recent Weather Drama is
factored in, it continues to amaze us here at Tremblant360, just
how quickly Mountain Crews can whip things into shape.

The quality of the Open Terrain so soon after major Weather interruptions
is a testament to the Skills of these Professionals who work around the clock.

If you are here today, you're not reading this now, but you will be having
a great day on what are arguably the best conditions in the entire region.

Perfect ? ... of course not, but as close to very fine as possible, which
is the case in about 85% of the Groomed, Open Terrain for today at least.

Secondly, all that work has, and continues to be, ongoing in the face
of another Thermal "Plus", above freezing and Rain event that has close
to a 100% probability of occurrence for tomorrow.

"FREEZING RAIN" and "FLASH FLOOD" WARNINGS are now in effect for
tomorrow over a large area of Eastern Canada and the North Eastern United States.

Just For The Record...."Before"

(You'll have to wait till tomorrow for "After".)

Please Note: The Sunday Data between above and below shows
difference in Sunny/Cloudy. Both Screenshots are within seconds
of one another so we can not tell you exactly why, other than
"Overcast" may represent the higher probability for the entire day.

Spring Skiing ...

....Cleverly Disguised as a Classic January Thaw!

Our Guesstimate for Open Trail Counts:
If...if...if... weather does as forecast.
Sat. 65.???
Sun. 20, maybe 25, 30.???
Mon. 35-40.???

We could be totally wrong.

---------- On a Personal Note -------------

Further to the Freezing Rain, Flash Flooding points above... We want to apologize
to all who read here for what we feel are shortcomings in our reporting
over the last few days because we are still involved with Home based Emergency
repairs and work around flooded basement/foundation from the last ice/rain
storm, in anticipation of the Flooding expected again tomorrow.

We have had to move, and are still moving at this very time, literally
tons of Ice by hand from Ice Dam formations as well as around Foundation
Landscaping to prevent further damage and that urgent priority has
diverted time that in stable Winter weather, we'd normally be on
the Mountain.

All we can say is that in an emergent threat, one that statistically
speaking, has affected almost all of the Eastern Half of North
America, Home comes First, so your patience is very much appreciated.

-------------- end of personal note ------------------

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
