T360 Apres Ski Late Evening Edition under construct @ 10:30 P.M.

At the end of Literally a Post Card Day of Classic and Timeless Tremblant Beauty,
drenched in brilliant Sunshine, Crisp, Cool Winter Air, and Very High Performance
Skiing/Boarding, Mountain Op’s starts the Night-Shift. The light is quickly fading,
so the camera struggles to register resolution, but the contrast is quite close with
the Snow White Trail Network looking almost iridescent, reflecting back the last pink
rays of sunset.

It was also a Great Weekend for New, Open Terrain, and All Four Open Sides
of Tremblant, for the first time this season.

Versant Soleil was really, really, Soleil.
Toboggan on Versant Soleil was really, really Fun!

The rapid development of all 4 sides of Tremblant
has a rate of acceleration not typical for Mid-December.
On the Groomed, it is roughly 96.76253% glitch-free, and
an absolute delight to rip endless arch’s of surgical precision
carves over. The traction and lateral grip are like driving a Ferrari
on a Race Track and we will bet you a Hundred Bucks, you’ll
run outta’ Muscle wwwway before you run outta’ Tremblant.
On the Hors Piste, Glade Ski/Boarding, there are all kinds
of Early Season Wild Cards, including Excellence and Hazard.
Use your Expert Head and stay Safe.

It’s quite simply some of the best snow you’ll ever Ski on.

--------------- end of update ---------------

The Basis for todays Excellence is that Yesterday was...

A True "Something For Everyone" Day.

There were Fresh Expert Powder Lines on Versant Nord, The North Side
until about 2:00 P.M. and at the same time, there were Immaculate
Learning Surfaces for 6 Kilometres on Nansen All Day Long.

The biggest single difference in the character of the Mountain today
is going to be the huge increase in Groomed refinement. We expect that
the array of Groomed Trails should have very close to perfect surfaces
for all the respective Skill Levels they are rated for.

We also think today may be an excellent day for Intermediates in
particular, because with so close to flawless and very even finished
states of Trail Surface, it should be a great day to kick up the challenge
factor in any terms of Style or Performance you want to work on.

In the scene above, trails led to all manner of Natural and Groomed
trails, but where it was all Natural, there were a considerable degree
of early season hazards that on trails designated Groomed this morning
should be as different as “Night” is to “Day”.

This shot below is from about 200 meters down from above on Sissy Schuss
at the point where it diverges in two directions, over to Gagnon, and straight
ahead, where you can see it was left completely natural. Based only on the
appearance of a Grooming Icon on the Official Snow Report, we think this
might be the best case for our “Night” and “Day” trail quality difference.
Hopefully, we can put an “After” shot in either here, attached at Apres Ski,
or included at tomorrow mornings posting.

What you need to keep in mind is that there were many, many very enthusiastic
Tremblant Fans Overjoyed with the Au Natural above who really enjoy those
opportunities to have raw, unprocessed conditions any time they can get them.
Tremblant recognizes that there are Guests with wide ranging preferences and
we see efforts to rotate natural conditions over the Mountain periodically
for the benefit of those who like it that way.

The wind direction that came with the recent Snowfall favoured
the Nord, North Side and Edge Sectors with vortices over the Summit
generating a Backfill that literally dumped large amounts of Snow
onto portions like the Peak of the Expo Quad zone.

No doubt, there was Snow accumulation on all 4 corners of the
Mountain, so there was benefit everywhere, but some of the wind-facing
Sud, South pitches did not retain as much, and you could sense the odd
little exposed icy bit here and there near the usual Crests where
the concentration of wind force had enough energy to work. Very Minor
in the overall balance though, and we think the Night-Shifts Grooming
should take care of most of that.

Rave Reviews Everywhere...

Snowy and a wee bit Snow-Cloud Foggy did not hinder enthusiasm
for the Newly Opened Versant Soleil Sector. We hope to get back there
today and get some better detail pic's with the Sunny part of the forecast.
Toboggan was very good from top to bottom, another great Trail Opening
from your friends at Tremblant Mountain Op’s.

Same Rave Reviews for Edge Sector. We were not able to get to the Edge
yesterday, but will make every effort to do so for Sunny pic's today.
In the Mean-time, our Expert Friends spent much of the day there
and had nothing but very high praise for the abundance of Natural
Snow and how much fun it was.

Weather Notes:

Of all displayed factors, and considering there’s nothing we can
do about the temp’s, what we like best in this forecast is the
combination of Sun and Low Wind Velocity. There will be quiet
Trail-Side places today with complete wind shelter, where you
will be able to feel “Heat” in the Sun.

There are some weird Precipitation Models in some Monday
Overnight forecasts, including freezing frizzle at -12C??? how
is any kind of “Drizzle” possible at -12C??? We’ll just have
to wait and see on that one....

Conditions Notes:

The “Cool” in the overnight lows has resulted in very dry, large crystal,
cold formed Snow that has moderate surface friction. Glide is slightly
lower than normal, but that is not a negative because on the Open Trail
Network it simply seems to offset gravity just a tiny bit, and the Edge-Set
Carving Grip for Lateral Hold is at an impressive level of performance
across all Skill Level Terrain. Beginners will enjoy the ease of effectively
controlling speed and directional changes and Experts will enjoy Carving
Traction like having a Ferrari on a Racetrack.

Snowboarders will probably want to exit pitches with as much safe speed
and edge as possible to transit plateau’s without having to take a foot out.

The established Groomed Trails are very close to glitch-free perfection.
Newly Opened Groomed Trails may have the odd early season little
debris, but Tremblant Mountain Crews have generally been able to
deliver initial surface quality that is directly comparable to Mid-Winter
on day one, so all you really need to do is keep eyes open for any
very small issues that could happen anyway.

The Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glade Skiing/Boarding is full of “Wild Cards”.
It is not mid-February accumulated depths... yet. Careful Exploration
at conservative speed is absolutely essential for Safe Descents in
Un-Groomed Open areas. Natural Hazards of both Organic and
Igneous Rock exist and the rate at which they may be apparent
is not necessarily predictable. Daily Traffic and Wear can change
those factors at any time. Use your head and be totally focused
when you are in Un-Groomed areas. Experts Only Please.

Tremblant Guests should notice a Huge level of Refinement
in todays Groomed Trails.

Experts, Intermediates and Beginners should all find
Fabulous Smooth and very high Traction performance
from Side-to Side, and Top-to-Bottom.

Hors Piste, Sous Bois, Glade Skiing/Boarding will have
a lot of “Wild Cards” in-so-far-as both Excellence and Hazard
and should only be explored by legitimate Experts.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
