71(*) Open Trails on the Very Fine Slopes of #Tremblant .

The difference a day can make is rarely more evident
than the superb, almost dramatic, upgrade to surface
quality that Tremblant Guests had the benefit of yesterday
and should see again today.

Icy Bits Largely Gone.

In last night’s Apres Ski, we examined two Trail Case Studies,
a “Green”, Sissy Schuss, and a "Double Black", Expo, to highlight
the differences a day or two can make, and the really excellent
part is that they were only two examples of Dozens of refinements
that Trail Snow surfaces got yesterday.

In the “Good Old Days”, which chronologically were “Old”,
but may not actually have been so “Good”, a January Thaw
that created large tracts of flowing glacial icy bits may have
taken either weeks or a giant blizzard to recover from.

At Tremblant in 2018, many of them are gone overnight, and
over sequential nightly Grooming shifts, they’re almost all gone
in 2 to 3 days.

Of course... A Giant Blizzard will always be welcome, but when
that’s not an immediate forecast expectation, having the quickness
of quality restored so fast seems almost miraculous.

For today, the morning should see a direct carry-over of yesterdays
new user friendly, and then this afternoon, additional softening due
to another rise in temps to the forecast high temp of + 4C by just
after lunch. Technically speaking, today may well be one of the best
pure performance days we’ve had in a while.

At these Temp. Values, we’re also very glad to have overcast to keep
sun off snow, even though the possibility of light rain later on is a risk that
we think could go either way, and at the Mountains cooler elevations,
could we see some Snowfall?

It could end up being a very “Spring-Like” Ski Day.

Versant Nord, the North Side, Trail #57, Devils River, is a Single Black Diamond
Expert rated local favourite that can be enjoyed by any confident Intermediate
with solid braking, steering and speed control skills when it is this smooth.
There are several alternating pitch angles that allow easy speed and braking
opportunities for those who are ready to move up the challenge ladder over
a surface with very consistent grip.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
