T360 Late Eve. Apres Ski Edit @ 11:07 P.M.
A great, if a bit unusual day with Sud, South Base level
warm to +1 C, but -3 C at Summit and Nord, North
Side Elevations. Regardless of temp’s, it was all winter
on the slopes. Below is a sample of that “Winter” on
the upper summit level pitch of recently opened McCulloch.

Not hard to see the thickness in the powder above.
The traversed centre was not too bad, but there were
traffic generated slick areas, so to maintain safe edge-hold,
lower speeds were essential for control, and for maximum
fun, the powder edges were Expert Soft.
This softness was widespread across Tremblant, but it
never got mushy anywhere on Nord, North, and even
on the Sud, South, the only real spring-soft shredding
was Johannsen/St.Bernard, and maybe a bit at the
Toboggan run-out to the Soleil Base.

The Open trail count got bumped up from 71 to 77,
and we’ll archive a copy of the Official PDF below.
With the temps so close to freezing, we were happy to
not see the “Sunny” part of the forecast except for a brief
time around noon. Otherwise, the cloud kept the surfaces
cool and the Skiing on all 4 Open Sectors was very cool,
as in great!
Above: You can see the line of Frost in the Trees where temps
got to exactly Zero C, and above which, they remained
all Sub-Zero’s for the entire day.
The temps did generate a bit of heaviness today in the
new snow from yesterday afternoon, so even P’tit Bonheur
was showing some effects. On the other hand, Nansen, from
Summit to base, gets the absolute smooth cruising award for
today. Even by Last Run, Nansen held near perfect evenness.
We posted some mid-day updates in the Orig. Post below,
so please read through that for more actual “Today”.
Tomorrow is supposed to be “Sunny” at least in forecast,
and maybe a degree or two cooler. With tonights grooming
night shift, it should be a notch up from today in getting to
more ideal compaction, so a more User friendly day, especially
if the forecast materializes.

71(*) Open Trails On All 4 Open Sides Of #Tremblant .
First Time This Season !!!
Sud, South, Nord, North, Edge, and Soleil Sectors ALL OPEN !!!!
Surprisingly Sweet, Soft, Satin-Smooth Snowfall.
You are going to have a fabulous day at Tremblant today because:
A) It snowed over the entire Mountain quite heavily all afternoon yesterday.
B) All 4 Tremblant Mountain Sectors OPEN!!!
Below: It may look grey, even monochromatically dull, but to us,
it is one of the most beautiful sights on Planet Earth. No camera
ever made could capture the etherial tranquility of this scene
and all we can say is that in the moment, it is if you could
feel the hand of God was gently caressing this magnificent,
natural setting.
Despite the vision related issues that thickly falling snow
generates, the overwhelming impression of superb smoothness
over every descent we had was completely absorbing. For the
most part, the trails were very lightly travelled, so not only did
you feel as though you had the Mountain to yourself, but the
sensation of floating through the rapidly building accumulation
is one of the most unique joys of the Ski experience.
The benefits of all this accumulated New Snowfall
Should Extend to All New Open Sectors And Trails.
From Summit-To-Base on both open sides of Tremblant, this new
snow, groomed into the existing base should be almost ideally
packed over the Night-Shift and we think the sunny forecasted
weather for Saturday is going to make it a spectacular Spring-like
day with the temps hovering around Zero C at the Sud, South
Resort Base.
------------- Early Morning Updates @ 9:16 A.M. --------------
New Open Terrain Sample Trail #18, “McCulloch":
McCulloch is being reported as groomed and very “Firm”,
with a bit of iciness along its decent. It is our intention
to get there later on as we suspect that as the day progresses
there may be enough atmospheric heat to soften it a bit,
in which case it will quickly become a very positive “Mega-Shred” zone.
If you observe the background, you will see that it is a long way from
“Sunny”. That’s why we say “atmospheric” above because so far, it
does not look like “Solar” is going to be a big component in the mix
of heat sources. Of course that may change, but its just too dark out
there now to think that would be anytime soon. From a surface quality
POV, we’re happy to NOT have a giant microwave(the Sun) pointed at
our precious snow when the temps are at or near Zero C.
Repurposed Open Terrain Sample Trail # 12, "Erik Guay”:
Erik Guay has been a designated “Race” training run for
the past several days and will be very popular with Locals
today as it returns to public access. To its credit, due to
its pre-existing open status, the surfaces are quite fine
with very little icy in any of its mix.
--------------- 10:58 A.M. Update -----------------------
Soleil Sector was on Progressive Opening and it has now come on line.
Due to the temps near Zero C, the snow is understandably being reported
as a wee bit thick, but otherwise it’s in great opening shape, and obvious
by the trail-side natural snow, there’s a good base to work from.
