T360 Mid-Evening Apres Ski Edit, Under Construction at 10:06 P.M.
As you look at these images, it should become evident to you
why we were not able to get a lot of pic’s today...
It should also be evident why it was such phenomenal Ski/Board
day, dare we say substantially better than anyone may have expected?
Oh, for sure there was snow in the forecast, but no one we know
expected it to start so early(noon) and come down with such intensity(white-outs).
An Unexpected, Super-Natural, Wonderful Gift From Mother Nature!

It Snow’d and It Snow’d...
The accumulations built quickly. That probably wouldn’t surprise you
after seeing these 2 pictures above and below, but if you were here,
it was just like a gift that kept on giving... right up to “Last Run”.

And Then It Snow’d Some More...
For an hour or so, it snow’d so hard on P’tit Bonheur that
it was filling in the Ski tracks between runs.
There was rapid snowfall accumulation over the
entire Mountain, however it varied in intensity
as there appeared to be passing bands of the
heaviest periods of activity. Below is a snowfall
sample from Beauchemin Bas, Lower, at about
the mid-point. It was a very large, light snowflake.

The Info.Ski System Works!
Getting off at the Summit of the Versant Sud,
South Side Gondola, Tremblant Guests who are not
familiar with the Mountain layout, can get the very best
local information within a few steps, and within a few
moments, armed with accurate Intel, hit the slopes that
are right for their own priorities.

We’re absolutely overjoyed to have such lousy, difficult and
challenging photography problems because of the spectacular
recovery from yesterdays whacky temperature swing that
generated such a wonderful ski experience today.
Tomorrow:
A Big Bunch Of New Snowfall,
Another Night Of Snowmaking,
Another Night-Shift of Grooming,
Plus This Forecast... WOW --- Big Potential For Excellence!
Go If You Can!

33(*) Open Trails On Versant Sud/South, Versant Nord/North Sectors at #Tremblant .
Due to the fact that it was snowing at the time
the temps dropped, this is...
Our One Pic. Performance Forecast For Today:
It may look a bit overcast “Grey”, but that has nothing to do with either
“Fast” or “Fun”, both of which were abundant throughout yesterdays
Open terrain.

Above:
You can very clearly see the clean edges of the carved Ski tracks
being left behind in this turning action sequence from yesterday
afternoon. The temps were already below Zero C, it was intermittently
snowing everywhere, and we think with the overnight grooming you’ll
be able to find that similar performance all day today.
Below:
You Should Be Here For The Exact
Same Reasons They Are Here...
Visiting Regional Race Teams flock to Tremblant at the
beginning of every season for the very best of reasons,
Excellent Training Over Excellent Early Season Conditions. Period.
Everyone within the teams pictured above, has come from within
a 500, to 800 Kilometre ONE WAY travel range to train here at Tremblant.
They do this because they recognize the value of a premium
early season training environment as an essential priority for
their Alpine Racing Program to be successful for the entire Winter
to follow.
If you are lucky enough to be able to participate on the basis of
having a “Season” of Skiing/Boarding, you will get the very same
benefits that early training directly contributes to Skills development
and personal, physical, power and durability.
Weather Notes:
To begin with, it’s 5 degrees C Warmer than the original forecast
for this morning, so that’s an automatic advantage from First Tracks.
Otherwise, ending up at -6C is easy early winter to dress for, and
easy to be out all day in. The winds today are indicated at South to
Sou-West, so they will be crossing the Summit from roughly over
the Soleil Quad towards La Crete or Beauchemin Haut, Upper.
The wind speeds are at moderate for base levels, but at the Summit
you can expect them to be periodically gusty and strong.
Conditions Notes:
One aspect of yesterday afternoon’s simultaneous temp. drop
and snowfall was a higher than average friction rate in the new
snow surfaces. The new snow was primarily a sort-of small, fine,
dusty crystalline particle with almost loose, sand-like qualities in
the accumulations. It was all perfectly smooth, but there was just
a wee hint of drag that you could feel as a reduction in glide over
plateaus. On pitches, it was beautiful very high traction, so overall
a definitely positive enhancement to what could have ended up as
just icy if it had not come at all.
The Official accumulation total was only 1 cm, but the net effect is
disproportionally huge due the surface modification that can occur
with even minute amounts, not to mention there were entire trail
sections that got very fine wind driven directional “Drift-in” benefits.
Nansen Haut, Upper was an excellent example of that. At Last Run,
Nansen Haut was getting fully natural snow-covered and it was
specifically in one of the best clinical conditions we experienced for
the afternoon.
12.10.19.Sud.South.Nansen.Haut.Upper.Wall.To.Wall.Fresh.Snow.Observations.c.jpg
For This Morning...
The blended result with the grooming night-shift has very good
potential, especially within the Beauvallon/Alpine and Nansen
zones on Versant Sud/South, as well as the entire Versant
Nord/North Open terrain that was shadowed by the Mountain’s
peak and got a significant blow-over, back-fill effect almost
everywhere.
Considering the temps have gone from +6C to -16C in 18 hours,
there may inevitably be icy bits. For that reason, slow speed caution
in initial explorations is very important, and sharp edges will
be one of the single most valuable assets you can bring to any
Alpine Ski/Board domain that has experienced this kind of
24 hour downward temperature profile from above, to below Zero C.

The very favourable and fortunate dimension of yesterdays active
weather system that dropped the temps quickly from “+” to “-“ C’s,
was the natural Snowfall that arrived simultaneously.
Despite the rather “Breezy” wind delivery, there was still a very tangible
accumulation that in many places, and to variable degrees, offset the
re-freeze with a smooth and naturally integrated top cushion.
Things could have been a lot worse and we are anticipating multiple
sweet zones within all sectors of the Mountains groomed footprint.
