Odds are, at some point today, it’s going to be “Damp” on the
slopes. The possibility does exist that it may not, however we
consider that probability at less than 50%. What typically
happens in this weather scenario is that the small rain icons
in the mid-day forecast hours indicate passing bands of active
precipitation. And... if it is what Pilot’s call a “Low Ceiling”, i.e., the
Mountain is low cloud-foggy, there may be little or no perceived rain
for long intervals, if at all.

This is due to the nature of rainfall, which is to predominantly fall below
the cloud, not so much in the cloud. “In the cloud”, is typically a misty
suspended cloud particle that is so fine it can not be seen as individual
droplets because they are microscopic. This airborne “Misty” can obscure
goggle lens, so you have to be ready for that, but because it is already
“Warm” out, you can frequently get away with goggles either not worn
or worn up, and bare eyes will not unduly suffer.

We use a set of yellow lens Industrial safety glasses for these days with
100% improved function and the added bonus is that the yellow lens
restores about 90% of the contrast for safe topographical navigation.

Unquestionably, the component that makes all the inherent Skiing
fun easy to enjoy is the ability to stay dry, and that’s where the
brilliantly simple “Descente Poncho” pictured above works so effectively.
Any serious Ski/Board Holiday Traveler should absolutely own one of
these Poncho’s. They are infinitely better than wearing the various
forms of plastic garbage bag style disposable ponchos, and we have
had ours for literally decades with todays effective protection identical
to the first day, after hundreds of uses over 10-15 years(?) They are
also very 4-Season useful as similar protection for spring/summer/fall
camping, hiking, outdoor events, etc., as it is only an uninsulated but very
robust membrane, and you dress underneath independently for temp comfort.

Get yours today at many of the shops at the Resort, and they usually
have them at the Summit Kit Shop as well.

Here is why we think so...

It is likely that the roads leading to Tremblant may be
messy on Friday morning due to the following:

Conditions Notes:

Possibility of “Super-Shred Spring” very high performance
warmed up snow.

On days like today, as difficult as it may seem, you
have to keep the atmospheric elements as separate
and distinct considerations from the clinically excellent
skiing performance of Spring-like snow that is typically
fast and very high traction.

If you can dress for it(as shown effectively above), it can be
some of the most fun Ski conditions!

More in the morning Open Hours,
but there is a distinct possibility it
could be “Damp” today. You’ll need
to be ready, just in case. As noted above,
Skiing should be fantastic.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
