It’s Slightly Warm And A Wee Bit Damp...
So Here’s What You Need...

Weather Notes:
At this early stage, what we have in the adjacent Old Mt. T Village
is a very very light drizzle. You really need to look closely to even
see it, but it is there. If the hourly forecast holds, there is the
possibility that much of the day over the Mountain may be dry,
due at least partially, to the low cloud ceiling that is covering
elevations. Precip. tends to be more evident below the cloud,
not so much in the cloud, but if that is the case, the density
of the cloud may generate quite a foggy atmosphere.
It’s technically still “Fall”. We’ve been very lucky to have
had such a good start to winter and nothing in the periodic
and totally normal end of Fall weather up’s-n-down’s is
going to take away from the existing foundation which is
very well established.
The Weather Network Official Winter 2022/23 Forecast Update:

Conditions Notes:
“Spring-Like”, everywhere.
Traction and potential carving energy will be immense
in the soft snow. Speed may be variable, depending on
any surface saturations, but we’re hoping that because
it’s been a rising temp cycle, the embedded frost in the
base may keep the natural speed and glide factors in the
“Fast” category.
People laugh at us when we say that we’ve had some
of our very best technical carving days in this kind of
weather, but it is true, clinically speaking, the skiing
is usually fantastic as a separate and distinct assessment
aside from the atmospheric factors.
Due to those atmospheric factors, one likely area of
challenge may be vision.
It’s time for yellow lens industrial safety glasses.
You do not need goggles, it’s already “Hot” so
just don’t need the seal around your eyes, but
what you do need is both eye protection from
descent speed wind and foggy particle blast, plus,
the most practical restoration of contour and surface
detail contrast. You get both with an inexpensive
pair of curved, yellow lens industrial safety glasses
that you can find on sale at almost any hardware
store for around $10.00. Keep them in your kit-bag,
right beside your Descente Poncho for days like today.
Please Note: There is a significant divergence in the initial
temperature reporting. The Official Tremblant PDF says +8 C,
The Weather Network Says +3 C, and our old analogue
thermometer says +6 C. Why it’s important is that within
that range there could be a substantial difference in
trail surface saturations, and consequently, speed and glide.
The point there is that Ski/Board base coatings/waxing
for “warm” conditions could be a major asset for keeping
the speed.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
(

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
