Closing Day, 2022/2023 Ski Season.

Seasonal Statistical Highlight:

Largest Single Ski Season Natural Snowfall

@ 657 cm’s, 6.57 Metres, or 21.555 Feet!

That’s A Lot’a Snow!!!

However....

Clinically, the Skiing should be excellent. Surface warmed
snow with a solid foundational base underneath can and does
produce fabulous technical high performance ski conditions.

But... you will need to be able to separate conditions today
into two distinct categories, surfaces and atmospheric.

Obviously with the weather forecast, you’ll need to
be ready for anything on the atmospheric side.

Please Note(a): T360 Admin on Medical L.O.A.
following a Skiing accident we reported on
April 3, 2023 (4/3/23 in this journal).

Please Note(b): All posts between April 4, 2023 and
April 23, 2023 are not sampling of our normal
degree or style of coverage due to our medical L.O.A. ...

that required a long distance Med-Evac, Hospitalization
and major emergency TH-Arthroplasty implant surgery.
Consequently, normal posting routines were interrupted
and any field work was prevented for the remainder of
the season.

All subsequent reporting was reduced, however
wherever possible we have added, and will add
more commentary as time or opportunity permit.
Additionally, we’ve had contributors who have
sent pic’s for specific dates that have been inserted
accordingly. We are very grateful for those submissions.

Meteorological and Trail Status Data provided
for every single day in order to maintain continuity
for time period archival reference.

Please refer to all posts prior to 4/4/23 as typical of
reporting standards with wallpaper pics and full commentary.

Weather Notes:

The progression of forecast icons from heavy
to light at mid-morning is an excellent indicator
that the bulk of the day could end up with the
precipitation being quite light, and in bands
of passing activity within small dimensional
confinements. Around here, that means
traversing rainy bits in localized valleys that
may be far away, on one side or the other,
or only at base level, but almost always, are
quickly passing over.

We could be wrong, but we would take every
opportunity to remind readers of our observed
“80/20” rainy rule that says 80% of the time,
the weather conditions over Mountain elevations
are way less wet, even/frequently dry, compared
to base levels with this common forecast profile.

---------------- 9:35 A.M. Insert Update: ---------------

What we have here is photographic evidence of the
most functionally desirable format of adverse wet
atmospheric conditions which is a very low cloud
ceiling which can be seen in all the attached weather
observations as either Summit cloud fog or valley cloud.

We frequently write that precipitation occurs primarily
under the cloud ceiling, not so much in the cloud. We
think today may be a good example. It could be raining
cats and dogs at base levels, but up at the Summit, we
see no signs of rain. Foggy, yes, but so-far, no rain yet.

Conditions Notes:

In our opinion, todays conditions may be totally
dependant on what Pilots would call the cloud ceiling
height. If it is low, at, just over, or touching the Summit,
what we would hope for then is that there is some probability
that the precipitation that is forecast will be most prevalent at
base levels only, while Mountain elevations may remain relatively
dry. This is because rain tends to fall below the cloud, not so
much in the cloud. In that case vision may still be an issue
due to fog, but functionally, the point is that there are good
chances that variable portions the open trail network could
remain relatively dry as far as the skiing experience is concerned.

If the cloud ceiling is high, then all bets are off as a cloud
ceiling well above Summit elevations could be indicative
of a regional rainy coverage that may effect broader
geographical ranges, and in more constant forms.

Of course, a few icon drops in the forecast typically freaks
out most of the “Fair Weather” recreational folks, so regardless
of how fine it may be, the attendance is likely to be limited.

there are quite a few technical references, however we
attempted to render the stat’s as Tremblant-centric.

It is absolutely applicable to those considering or
researching Tremblant as a potential destination due
to the historic relevance of generalized winter weather
trends or patterns. The snowfall predictions for this
season are at the bottom of the linked article if you
