It Is What It Is...

Very Early Spring.

It is extremely important to point out
that we have to be very thankful that
things are not much worse. For sure
there’s been windy heat, and a bit of
rain too, but overall, and despite the
atmospheric cloud drama, this very early
onset of spring has been remarkably dry
from the sky.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Extremely soft with periodic saturations due
to topographical contours that can generate
significant forward resistance which you may
perceive as a braking effect. The onset of any
of this braking effect may be directly proportional
to your speed. This will necessitate very focused
situational awareness as there will be a delicate
balance in some sectors between using speed and
momentum to keep reasonable descent control
while being alert and instantly responsive to
sudden surface friction that may want to upset
balance.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades And Un-Groomed:

Everything should be comparatively easy in the
overall softness, so where there are adequate
depth reserves, loads of fun for experienced
Experts. However... cautious initial explorations
are very much warranted by the limitations of
hazard visibility from above that you may not
be able to see until virtually on top of them.

Generally, softness to this degree features
excellent forgiveness, but that is usually
attached to very conservative speeds so
you can actually use the forgiveness to
facilitate the inevitable, instantaneous
course corrections necessary to safely
navigate any descent path.
