38(*) PRELIMINARY Open Trails Subject To Early AM Confirmations.

(Please Note: Very early 4:03 A.M. posting to facilitate site logistics.)

38(*) CONFIRMED Open Trails.
Archival Data Attached Below.

Here is a file shot of one of the most important Tremblant
annual trail development/time markers of the entire season...

Trail # 18, Versant Sud/South Side Summit Sector McCulloch
With Snowmaking Icons.

This is a very big deal folks.

It’s a huge sign of the maturing ski season as well as one
of the single most popular trails for both recreational and
race skiers on the whole Mountain.

It’s also very reassuring to see things are getting bigger,
and better, every day.

Weather Notes:

At -19C, Forecast For 7:00 A.M., It’s just plain ole’ Cold.

Legitimate “Bundle Up” territory, and furthermore, it’s
going to be legitimate Bundle Up territory for the next
4 days.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

All Day Extraordinarily Fine “Cryogenic”(#) Snow Performance.

Due to a combination of yesterdays 11cm’s of fresh snow
integrated into last nights grooming cycle, we think the
consequent product this morning should be remarkably fine.

The challenge is going to be layering up to stay warm and
comfortable enough to enjoy it, part of which is keeping a
brisk pace to generate body heat through expended calorie
burning.

Friday’s can sometimes see “Long Weekender” traffic volume,
however that is not for sure so wear factors could be a variable.

Please Note(a): Due to the wind-shaping of recent days with snow,
there are likely to be zones of either bounty, or exposures. It is the
latter that you need to watch out for. Grooming usually renders
out any bits of firm exposures, but daily traffic, particularly on
some of the main boulevards or where trails converge or intersect,
can exhibit slick or icy wear factors as the day progresses. It is
always important to observe evolving patterns and reduce speeds
where you can reasonably see that hazards could be evolving.

Please Note(b): Due to the sensitivities noted above, it is advisable
that you realistically match actual skill level with open terrain ratings.
This not a time for Experts to be dragging their Intermediate or
Beginner friends into Black Diamond terrain that could have slick
substrates. Warm up and practice BELOW your skill level until fully
confident that you can pivot, change direction or stop on a dime.

((#) Cryogenics is the study of the effects of cold on materials
and/or function. We describe super-cool snow as having unique
and distinct performance properties of excellent lateral grip and
natural speed and we expect that to hold all day. For us, the positive
qualities include all related ski conditions at temperatures between
-13C, down to -28C. Below -28C, extreme cryogenic effects can
cause increased levels of friction and consequently raise surface drag.
Of course, at that point staying warm becomes a run-by-run objective
but very fortunately the number of days we might experience that
in a whole typical season would be less than a handful.)

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

There’s only one... Versant Nord/North Side Trail # 97, LTE,
the bump run under the lower portion of the Lowell Thomas
Quad.

Opening any of these initial Sous Bois runs is typically
an early season on/off scenario just because the base
accumulation depth is not there at levels of “Forgiving”
yet. We need more natural snow to really get there,
however it is possible that with constant monitoring,
the Ski Patrol may selectively reopen additional if safety
standards are achieved.
