About Us...

Post by T360 »

Draft Of T360 Notes:

From time to time we get questioned about our relationship
with Tremblant. The overtones inherent in that question are
typically with reference to a commercial or business relationship
with the resort (which we do not have), so then, the purpose of this
post and ultimately this website, is to elaborate on the multitude of
Tremblant facets that we enjoy, of which the resort is only one.

Lets start with this: We are huge "Fans" of Tremblant. Lets make
it clear though, that the use of the name "Tremblant" is an all
encompassing reference. While we focus primarily on the Mountain
(we are, after all, skiers), more broadly, we refer to the entire region.
You will find the various sections of this website contain information
on a wide range of Tremblant interests throughout the region.

Having skied here since the early 1970's, one can not help but
come to an appreciation of the whole area after experiencing the
rich depth that both Mother Nature and the community share.

Certainly, one could look at other examples of "Fans", lets take
World Cup Soccer, NHL Hockey, NFL Football, or NASCAR for instance,
where dedication, loyalty, interest and commitment are completely
unquestioned in terms of the understanding that we have for
the concept of "Fans".

The way some Fans promote their game, their teams, or their sport,
one might think they were getting paid for it, but of course,
that is just not the case.

We promote Tremblant for the same reasons now, that we promoted
it to all our friends long before Global size corporations became involved,
because in our opinion, it is one of the finest technical Alpine ski
environments on Earth. Throw in all the natural beauty and
benefits of the other 3 seasons, as well as the charm and the vitality
of the local community (both social and commercial), then, add in one of
the most well developed ski resort villages on the continent and you
have an undeniably world class region.

Ski resorts do not exist without significant investment and ultimately
that becomes a business entity because someone has to actually build
and run an infrastructure that is capable of economically sustaining itself.

To that end we support the resort management that has made Tremblant
a better ski mountain firstly, and secondly, put their own stamp on it to
create their vision of what the resort should be.

If you asked a thousand people about what they might change, you
would get a thousand different answers, but we're not here to talk
about that so much as we're here to try to make the present Tremblant
experience the very best it can be.

Demographers try to define groups that can be readily identified, largely
for purposes of understanding behaviors, like "Boomers" or "Gen-X" for
example. The internet has made it possible for even amateur
demographers such as we are, to conduct fairly sophisticated analysis.

For us, we have defined our target audience as "Destination Activity
Participants", those who would travel to a specific place to engage
in specific activities, like skiing.

Our studies show that the primary group we are talking to would be
45 million or so, "Destination Activity Participants", people mostly
between the ages of 18(students) to 75(retiree's) that will spend
money to travel for unique participation experience that live outside
of Quebec, primarily within the East Coast Region of North America,
as well as the United Kingdom.

Within that broad socio-economic and geographical reference,
consumers have a ton of choice, and as Tremblant "Fans" we aim to
give them enough supporting reasons to come to Tremblant over
any other area simply because like the truly passionate World Cup
Soccer Fan, we are totally committed to our "Team".

We are happy to interact with resort management and indeed, they
have granted us access to the Mountain so that we can gather and report
on winter ski/board conditions for the benefit of our target audience.
We have found that with a positive, mutual respect for making the
Tremblant experience the best it can be, they are a great group that value
their Fans as a vital component of the Tremblant ambiance.
There is no doubt, that after almost 40 years of purchasing lift tickets
and passes, that their assistance has made it possible for us to bring you
our daily conditions report on a quality level that we could not afford
to do otherwise, and our appreciation is most genuine.

The sun sets early in Northern Quebec at the beginning of January,
setting the dramatic back-drop for this "last run" photo as we prepare
to descend from the summit. Spectacular views are a hallmark of the
Tremblant experience.
