2/27/14 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

90(*) Open Trails On the Endless Winter 4 Snowy Sides of Tremblant.

So, there are 2 kinds of “News”…

Which do you want to hear first…

The “Good News” …. ?

or, would you prefer to hear the…

“Other News” ?

Of course typically the 2 types of News are “Good News” and “Bad News”
but when all the “News” at a Ski Resort is "More Winter" and "More Snow”…
there is not a single sliver of “Bad News” anywhere in that Forecast!

For those whom are not fortunate enough to be Winter Alpine Snow Sports
Participants in either Skiing or Snowboarding, it is taking on the feel of
“Endless Winter” as we said above. As permanent as the Chill feels, sooner
or later, actually in the case of this season, a lot later, “Spring” will eventually
arrive!

Two More Weeks Of “Winter” Temps, Two more weeks of Classic, Superb
Snow White Tremblant Winter Alpine Ski/Board Surfaces!

Spring’s just going to take a while, so in the mean-time… We get to enjoy a lot
more of what we really love… Pure Winter Conditions.

“Pure Winter Conditions” as defined as ….

“A period of Sequential, 24 Hour, Stable, Sub-Zero Sustained Days,
Uninterrupted By ANY Thermal Effects.”

Typically, at this stage of the season, we’d be seeing some Daytime
“Plus”, above freezing from either outright ambient warm air temps,
or… from the more intense and direct Solar Energy of the longer days
and rising sun as Earth tilts towards Spring.

but… We’ve not had any “+” temp. since the 99% Recovery from
Last weeks adverse weather, so Technically, as long as it stays within
our definition, we’re on another streak of “Pure Winter Conditions”.

Thank Goodness It’s A Ski Resort!

Yesterday: There were Moments of Somewhat Sort-Of, Sunny, Shadowy Brightness
as you can see below in this sample of these typical light conditions on Expo.

One of those days where standing at the Summit, looking out, across and under
the Low Cloud Ceiling, it looks almost completely overcast, but if you’re standing
at the Base looking straight up there were peeks of Blue Sky and Distant Projections
of Rays Downwards.

Today is not like that, so far. It’s currently, and very solidly, Grey Overcast
with Snow Flurries.

The Forecast for this afternoon indicates the potential for Sunny Glimpses,
but as hopeful as we may all be, it does not seem too likely with this early
heaviness in the Sky’s.

Regardless…

Today’s Surface conditions will be the incremental Grooming refinement
over yesterday, and we expect the Very High Performance Shred Capability
of the top layers to be uniform across the array of Open Terrain with very
few Glitches at all.

Below: Here’s a Sample of the Smooth, Swift, Sure Footed Carving Grip
thats ’s going to be the Main Feature of your Tremblant day, not only today,
but for the foreseeable future.

Daytime Hight Temp @ -9 C, but with moderate to brisk Nor-West
Winds coming across the Summit from the Nansen Sector, headed
towards Duncan.

Bundle up… for optimal comfort.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
