For the True Tremblant Ski/Board Fan… there’s only
“Good News” Winter Weather in the Forecast!

---------------- 7:37 A.M. Orig. Post -------------------

91(*) Open Trails on the "Welcome Back To Excellent”, 4 Sides of Tremblant.

Today we get the “Bump” in the Open Trail Numbers we forecast
Yesterday.

It was only a matter of time… and the ‘round the clock efforts of
Tremblant Mountain Crews who are at the very top of the profession
of “Quickness Of Quality” for any circumstances Mother Nature
delivers, large or small.

As an added Bonus…

It’s Snowing! …Right Now!

Modern, as in either “Young” or “New To The Sport” Skiers/Boarders
have no idea how lucky we are to have such a Quick return to the
Surface Quality we’ll have today, compared to the days of decades past
when Post-Thermal Event like last Fridays, affected conditions for weeks.

We’re so, so lucky that with current technologies, the benefits recovery can be
experienced by Mountain Guests within hours, so much so, that within less than
a handful of days, it’s almost as if it never happened.

The ability to deliver such a speedy Quickness of Quality is a huge asset
to everyone from those Local's who are looking out the window early this
morning trying to decide to come out for the day, or for those who booked
their Ski Holiday 8 Months or more ago, and have traveled 5,500 Kilometres
to be here this morning.

We think this is where Tremblant Shines out above all it’s regional peers.

Given all the Whims of Mother Nature, we do not think there is anywhere
else you can go Regionally that will be capable of rendering out “Excellent”
as Quickly or as Reliably as they do at Tremblant.

There are a number of Technical Reasons for this, it’s not just “Wishful Thinking”
on our part.

1) The 4 Distinct Sides of Tremblant.

Tremblant has the Permanent, Irrevocable Benefit of always having a Sheltered
Side. In Sailor Terms, a “Lee Side” that always gets the benefit of being out,
or opposite to the side of the most direct adverse weather, no matter what type
of adverse weather it is. If it’s “Warm” on the South, it’s “Cooler” on the North,
if it’s Windblown on one side, it’s Calmer on the other, at close to Zero Temp.
Tipping Points, if it’s rainy on one side, it’s Snowing on the other. etc., etc.. This
gives Tremblant’s Mountain Crews a huge range of options to provide Guests with
Great conditions where ever the Sweet Spots are at any given time.

This fact is the basis for our Tremblant360 3rd Rule of Skiing: "There will ALWAYS
be great Skiing within the Open Terrain” . In 40 Seasons here, we’ve never seen
an exception.

2) The Overall Elevation Of Tremblant.

At 645 Vertical Metre’s or 2116 Vertical Feet, Tremblant is the the highest
Regional Alpine Snow Sport Geographical Feature. Not only do Mountain Guests
get the advantage of Trails up to 6.2 Kilometres in Length, but the Temperature
Differential of a typical 3 to 5 Degrees C, Cooler at Summit means that when
it’s anywhere close to Zero at base levels, the whole Mountain typically enjoys
retained Sub-Zero’s, so particularly in Fall and Spring when that happens a lot,
Tremblant’s surfaces also typically are Pure Winter Snow Sooner and Longer.

Rapid 8 Minute Rides to the Summit mean that on most days of average
Mountain Traffic when it’s typically a "Ski Right Onto Lift”, zero wait time,
getting 35,000 Vertical Feet of Skiing with 2100 ft, 15 minute Training Laps/Cycles
in a day is easy... as long as you have the muscle to do it.

3) The Technologies Currently Available.

That starts with the Snowmaking Foundation that is created between the
first of November and basically runs to the end of January(subject to fine
tuning for Weather). If you goto our “Tremblant Geographic” Forum Section,
you can read about the “Big Bump Theory” used to generate base in less than
a week that is often better than we had in the whole season in some Trail cases
for decades gone past.

Of course, at this Mid-Winter stage when scheduled Snowmaking is well
in the past, Grooming takes over as the primary component of Daily Surface
Quality and in the case of “Adverse Weather” as we’ve had, the primary
strategy of recovery.

Tremblant Puts Their Teeth Into Recovery Grooming This Past Week….
Below: The High Speed Clockwise Rotation of these Carbide Steel Teeth on the Tiller
attachment behind the Groomer create a very fine particle as well as a lot of
Snow Dust that is retained close to the drum by the heavy steel reinforced
Rubber “Sweeps” you see behind.

The Finishing with Modern Grooming/Packing Equipment Undoubtedly allows
such a Speedy Surface Rendering and at such High Quality that the Tremblant
results speak for themselves.

Below: With the whole Tiller Attachment on the ground and working, the fury of
the rotating Teeth is almost completely contained close to the ground. A very
slight appearance of Snow Dust in the air behind the machine is all we see,
and after the Machine is out of sight, the seamless Corduroy is what Tremblant
Guests get to carve on for the day.

4) (related to #5) The Skills of the Mountain Crews.

These Crews Are Nothing Short Of Artists in the creation of
Tremblant’s Magnificent Alpine Snow Sports Environment.

Goto our Blog entitled "Tremblant Conditions, Grooming Par Excellence!”
on our Homepage for more detail on this aspect.

5) (related to #4) The Experience of the Mountain Crews.

There are 2nd and 3rd Generation Family Crew Members
spanning 75 Years of Alpine Snow Sport Mountain Operations.

6) Tremblant’s More Northerly Latitude over it’s Regional Peers.

“North” Always Rules Over “South” when it comes to the Onset,
Retention and Durability of “Winter”. Period. If you really want
to Celebrate “Winter” Sports, odds are you’ll find more of it
and with better consistent quality “North”. We often say that
Tremblant has more “Pure Winter Conditions”, sustained, sequential days
of no thermal interruptions of any sort, with Ideal, Cold Formed Snow.
Nothing Skis Like Immaculately Groomed, “Squeaky” Cold Formed,
Pure Winter Snow.

Weather Wise:

It’s supposed to be sunny, and there have definitely been some brighter
moments, but the overcast has been dominant and looks as if it will
remain that way.

-11 C daytime high with strong Westerly winds coming up Kandahar
and blowing quickly across towards the Ski Patrol HQ.

Not a difficult temp., but with the winds there’s no doubt that you’ll need to
bundle up with well secured outer layers.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
