We had every intention of a full featured Apres Ski with the
final Pic from Sacha Leclair, however....
We experienced Significant Tremblant Regional Road Travel Delays Caused
By Blowing and Drifting Snow, Un-Plowed Highways, very reduced visibility,
to almost Nil at times, and very slow moving Elder-Traffic. All have consumed
time far beyond the normal Transit Times typical for this neck of the woods,
Delays measured in Hours
Thank Goodness for 8,000 Deg. Kalvin, H.I.D. Headlights!

Yesterday morning’s very fine Open Terrain story was over-shadowed by the
Unique Atmospheric Parhelia Phenomenon, also referred to as “SunDogs”, which
we will look at in more depth later on.

todays conditions though, the functionally important information in Sacha’s
Field Notes is this:
"Conditions were top notch with very little glitches. The best I've experienced
this season. Devils River was run of the day in my opinion with again stellar
conditions and very minimal traffic.”
This “Best Of” reference should continue on for today and the foreseeable future
as the Mountain has remained consistently Sub-Zero over recent days and with the
incremental improvement of overnight Grooming, Surface Refinement occurs
on an escalating basis.

Mountain crews to generate finer and finer, as in smaller and smaller Surface Particle
size for both a more uniform coefficient of friction over any descent path, but also
a better blend of the Blown and Natural Snow components in the overall mix
of the top layers we Ski or Board over.
Additionally, we think that any residual or lingering moisture that may have been
present due to the recent closeness of the ambient temps to just under the freezing
mark, will be aerated out to the atmosphere by the surface agitation of the Groomers,
rendering an overall dryer top layer.
Consequently, as Very Fine as Yesterday was, Today should be that One Notch Up
for those very fortunate Alpine Snow Sport Participants at Tremblant now.
There is no doubt about the impressive display of the Parhelia “Sun Dog”
Atmospheric Display. Here’s a repeat from last nights Apres Ski and...

Overcast, Daytime High of -2C, with light to moderate Easterly Breezes, so coming
up the Mountain from over the Lowell Thomas Sector and headed over the Summit
towards McCulloch. It should stay like this pretty much right through to Last Run.
Possible Fog, Reduced Vision, Yellow Lens Advisory...
Bring ‘em with you, just in case...
At this comparatively Mild South Base Sub-Zero, we would expect the Summit Temp’s
too be around -6C --> -7C, so a very easy early Winter day with every potential
of another notch up “Best Of” Ski/Board Performance.
FRESH SNOWFALL ADVISORY: Fresh Snowfall is expected to commence
this eve., at between 10:00 P.M. and Mid-night. Recent precipitation models
have varied over the past 48 hours, but the possibility is anywhere from
a Stat Total of 6 to 12 CM. The winds are forecasted to stay Easterly, but
may increase slightly in speed overnight so there’s more potential for
some nice fill-in on the whole Mountain, but with a bias towards North
Summit Sectors
