Work continues at a very quick pace on Expo. Hard to say how
soon, because we do not know how far Crews are going to go
with creating Snow Inventory, before Levelling and Finished
Grooming. There’s still lots of area to cover, so it could be a
few days off yet.

44(*) Open trails on 3 Sides of #Tremblant Including South, North and Edge Sectors.

We think Yesterday was a bit of an unusual Statistical Anomaly...
We do not actually have the Stat, but would not be surprised to see
that someone and/or somewhere, it is kept...

How many times would the first day of a Hard Freeze on Lac Tremblant
actually coincide with the First Official Day of Winter?

Of course it seems entirely appropriate and a very Happy Coincidence,
but if anyone knows how/where to search for that, we’d appreciate
a quick note on F/B, Twitter.

In the Mean-Time(**)...

Over on Kandahar, at the South Summit Sector, just to the immediate right
of the Gondola Line seen above, here is what was going on all day at Tremblant...

((**)Please Note: All Conditions References today are Sample/Examples.
They are not exclusive and almost all the Opened Groomed Terrain
can be found in this Great Condition. Blue and Green Rated Trails
are even more impressive in condition because they do not have the
steep sections that tend to get Traffic Scraping down to the Base.
The vast majority of Blue/Green terrain is Glitch-Free Immaculate.)

Below: A bigger picture of Kandahar in very fine Expert Shape. The Skier you saw
above is in this one below, top right corner... doing what many intelligent Experts
are doing on these types of steeper runs with firm centres... utilizing the Soft
Shoulders for turning ease. On our descent, we chose the opposite side, to the left,
and you can see tracks in the loose powder there, right under the Snow Gun Nozzles,
where we were making loads of Short Swing Parallel turns with zero trouble at all.

Experienced Skiers and Boarders are going to instantly know what all today's pic's
indicate about Conditions. If we said that this were the general and average level
of Surface Performance that could be found in the wide range of Open Terrain,
we hope that alone would be enough to motivate you to get out on the slopes
at Tremblant. It should be considered all the core info. you really need.

We are absolutely Thrilled to see the Expo Sector Trails Sissy Schuss Haut(upper) to
Fuddle Duddle Bas(Lower) including La Griffe, on “Progressive” or Gradual Opening
this morning. We are confident that given the consistency of Opening’s Quality
set by virtually everything that’s been Opened up ’til now, that Quality will also be part
of these descent paths initial condition. This is one of Tremblant’s Best Learning
Environments for Carving Technique and Training. We’ll get back to you on that, for sure.

Other Tremblant News Highlights:

Tremendous Edge Sector Opening Day Yesterday!

Super Smooth Expert Challenges on Trail # 88 Action were a total
and much appreciated upgrade for this seasons start on the Edge
and it will do nothing but get better from now on. If you hear any “Stories"
about some Icy on Action, it is likely from Intermediates ignoring Expert
Only Signage, and there was a lot of that. If you are truly an Expert,
there’s nothing on Action you can’t handle and we even found a narrow
soft snow line down the left side for easy short swing Parallel Style Turns.

Here is a view showing the bottom of the Action Pitch and you can see
how flat and level it is,as well as the size of some of the Opening Day
Surface Particle Sizes.

Snowmaking Continues in many areas... but a HUGE Local Favourite is
Expo on Versant Nord, the North Side, where this Marquee Expert
Trail is the most visible Top-To-Bottom Snowmaking Zone on the whole
Mountain right now.

Riding up the Expo Quad yesterday was a Snowy Experience, but easy to handle
when you factor in the anticipation that it’s many fans are feeling knowing that
this Icon of Tremblant is not too many days off from Open!

Below: Looking Down, the ability of Mountain Crews to cover this run with complete
Wall-To-Wall, and Top-To-Bottom coverage in such a short time is a remarkable feat
of Technological Advancement as far as we are concerned. We’ve said it before,
but it’s very appropriate to say again, that as Kidz in the ’70’s, you might have to
wait ’til some time in January for Opening at all, and Natural Hazards, some
of large dimension, were always a factor. Now, this run is Opened in a few short
days with Quality we never saw in almost any season, let alone Opening Day!!!

It is this “Instant On” and “Instant Quality” that continues to amaze us
time after time this Season and our most Heart-felt Gratitude goes out
to all the Team Members of Tremblant’s Very Professional Mountain
Operations Group for all the untold hours of Hard Work and the
Excellent Results!!!

Weather Detail:

Starts Semi-Sunny, moving to Overcast with daytime high around -5C

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

T360 Highlight Apres Ski... Started above with Expo Construction Update.

Work also moving right along on Flying Mile.

Sissy Schuss was a wee bit lumpy in places and it will respond very nicely
to Overnight Grooming Cycles. Comparatively, Fuddle Duddle Bas was
a bit smoother and finer particles, but it’s all coming along and in nothing
more than a day or two, the whole descent path should be a bit more uniform
from top-to-bottom. Still a Very fine Start.

La Griffe was a combination of Soft Sides and Slick Middle and due primarily
to its Steeper Pitches, it required careful navigation around Crests and Slick
Zones, but it was very easy to see that those with Good Edges had good control.

We promised to get back to Devils River and it was quite near Identical
to the other Expert Terrain, so for those with the realistic Expert Skills
and tuned gear, quite easy. For those with less than Expert skills or out-of-tune
gear, a lot more effort to stay on top of in edging and braking.
