12/27/14 #Tremblant Conditions

T360 Noon Update .....
Revised Trail Count @ 48(*) Open Trails.
Raw Data Archive format attached at Page Bottom.
---------------- 5:57 A.M. Orig. Post -------------------
43(*) Open Trails on South, North and Edge Sectors at #Tremblant.
Please Note: There are 3(*) Progressive Openings to form 1 Descent Path on
Versant Soleil, including, from the Summit, Franc Sud, Toboggan, and Tapecul
to the Soleil High Speed Detachable Quad Chair Base.
Todays Opening of the Soleil Sector represents another “First” in Tremblant’s
ability to develop Open Terrain that has not been previously achieved.
The Permanent, Plumbed Snowmaking Technology installed on Soleil back
when the Sector was created, requires about -18C to produce Snow. A brief
review of the Weather data shows that this has not happened to the extent
that would permit it’s effective use up to this date.
Evidently, Management has undertaken to deploy alternate forms of different
and Newer Technologies to generate coverage at temps closer to Zero and the
Very, Very Positive Outcome is today’s Progressive Opening of one of Tremblant’s
Modern, Classic, Summit-To-Base Descent Paths which also just happens to be one
of our Personal Favourites!
Here is a Brief Archival File Pictorial Overview of this Most Excellent Masterpiece
Of Tremblant Trail Design.
From the Summit, Franc Sud, Trail #40 angles off to the Left from the Taschereau/Ryan
Entrance in a Southerly direction.
Please Note: the above File Shot of Franc Sud shows a Late March,
end-of-day Sample and traffic formed Moguls. Todays Opening will
most likely Feature Grooming that will be as flat and smooth as a
calm, quiet river.
Next in this Descent Path is Trail # 41 Toboggan. Without a doubt, this Trail
is a Brilliant Execution of Modern Tremblant Terrain Development. We Love
this Trail for many reasons, but primarily for it’s trademark Swoops, Dives,
Beautifully Banked Turns from the Natural Lay of the Land, that all combine
to form an undulating, rolling progression of what we can only describe as
what might be called “Mother Natures Roller Coaster”.
One of the principle elements of Toboggans Basic Attractions is the very
near perfect flow of it’s rolling topography that facilitates the utilization
of current Ski/Board Carving Radius Design and we have chosen the following
Pic. Below to Illustrate that. We prefer a Short Radius Slalom Ski for the
most responsive capability to carve within the dimensions of it's average
15 to 20 Metre Trail Width and along the rhythm of it’s descending Contours,
but Toboggan is one of those “Fun For Everyone” kind of Trails that almost any
Ski/Board will be a Joy with, using adapted technique.
Finally, shown in this excerpt from the Tremblant Trail Map, Trail # 42,
Tapecul brings you to the Base Level of the Sector where the Loading Zone
for the Soleil High Speed Quad is, and it Zips you back to the Summit.
Any Day of a Sector Season Opening at Tremblant is a Great Day, so today’s
Big News will be very much appreciated by a Big Group of Dedicated Soleil Fans!
Todays Weather Detail:
Foggy, with chance of Drizzle, and Snow. Daytime high temp at South Resort
Base Level @ +3 for a couple of Hours after Lunch and falling to Sub-Zereo
by around dinner time this eve.
Light Southerly winds, so no problem there, but with the ambient Humidity and
the Foggy, Drizzly part... a high probability that goggle lens may be affected
by airborne moisture particles and the resultant reduced Vision that can then occur.
Open Alpine Snow Sport Surface Conditions should be very similar to yesterday,
so there may be highly variable surface softness in any Summit-To-Base descent,
not to mention potential Icy bits that can evolve either bigger or smaller due to
traffic and/or changing temps.

is not recorded in the total Open Trail Count until Officially Certified
by the Ski Patrol. Hand Posted Trail Signage May Be Posted that
Supersedes all other signage. Use Caution on Initial Explorations.
