CONDITIONS SUN 12/28/08

Post by T360 »

Foggy, Soggy, and for all the Brit's, a bit Dodgy...

There is no question that Mother Nature has Burped a
warm wet one.

BUT DO NOT DESPAIR !

We have enough base to get through this and the temps
will return to below freezing later today at around 5:00pm
and there may even be some SNOW with that.

One way this is evident is the OPEN TRAIL COUNT @ 74 !

That is very good!

The last time this happened, about 2 weeks ago, we went
from 70 some odd trails down to 27 overnight, so we are
a lot further ahead in that department, which I believe is
due to the compacted base built up over the groomed surface.

Now then, we have lots open today and you should take
advantage of that while you can because when it does
return to seasonal temps later on, things will become
firmly frozen, meaning icy for a while, until we get more
snow.

Take your runs carefully as there will be some natural hazards,
but they will be easy to spot, so keep your eyes looking well
forward for best results.

Remember, this is still only Dec 27th, "winter" is only 6 days old
and just getting started, so we can expect to have some of these
early season swings.

Remember this too: Copy from yesterday...

1) YOU CAN HAVE A GREAT DAY IN ANY WEATHER AT TREMBLANT
IF YOU ARE PREPARED.

2) You can ALWAYS find good skiing somewhere at Tremblant on
days like this because this Mountain has enough in different
micro-climates that can be found, and one or more of them
will have excellent conditions.

Explore, and you will find them.

You will find a complete article on these conditions in the “equipment"
section of Tremblantchat.com , so take a look, get properly geared
up and HAVE FUN ANYWAY!

You can expect the open trail count to go down somewhat tomorrow,
as the Mountain Crews go into Preservation Maintenance Mode, but
that is the right thing to do.

With a little luck, there may be enough snow to help things out and
keep the "wet" impact to a minimum.
