Until Things Clear Off... you can expect scenes like this one on
lower Beauchemin. Judging by nothing other than early Web
Cam views, the Summit may remain Cloudy/Foggy for quite
a while. There may be more definitively just overcast as the
foggy part should dissipate towards noon, but frankly, the
“Sunny” bits in the forecast just don’t look likely.

The Skiing, should be "Very Fine Spring" after any small
crustiness gets broken in or warmed up.

Direct From The Head Of The “It Could Have Been A Lot Worse” Department,
We Are Overjoyed To See 96/96 Open Trails at Tremblant, PLUS...

It’s not fancy DSLR Photography, but under the overall Weather Circumstances,
it’s just about the prettiest sight we could hope for...

It’s -1 C at the Summit Of Tremblant.

The 2 red circles above on the 7:43 A.M. “Eye Opener” Web Cam Summit POV
show the -1 C on the Lift Status Board as well as Frost on the roof of the
Ski Patrol HQ and we’re so very happy to see these small signs, but huge
indicators for overall Trail Status. Combined with the added confidence that
a 96/96 Open Trail Count starts the day with, and in our opinion, you have
almost a classic definition of “Things Could Have Been A Lot Worse”.

(#)The Beneficial Tipping Point Advantages Of “Saved By North”,
where “North” is a Reference of Latitude.

It’s +6 C in Jeffersonville Vermont right this second, and today
that’s the spread that “North” gets you. That is everything you
need to know about why to choose Tremblant at this time of year.

More broadly, we think and say, it’s been these slight, cooler temp’s
throughout the season that have added up over the past several
months to yield the net effect of bringing Tremblant to a 96/96 Open
Trail count at the end of March.

We have written extensively throughout the season about the
mechanical advantages of Tremblant’s Conical Mass being well
chilled, acting as a stored refrigerant that helps to preserve Trail
Quality and Quantity and in our opinion, you are seeing the specific
benefits of that, not only today, but in days past and days future as well.

Weather Notes:

It seems to be another one of those forecast “Partially Sunny” days
that’s “Totally Overcast”, so far. It may clear off, but at this stage
it just does not look probable. Of course, Mother Nature could
change things very quickly, so maybe later this afternoon?

The Reality Clause: It is the end of March, There has been warm and
wet weather. The Open Trail Count could change at any time because of
Traffic Wear or Thermal Factors, but the important part for today is this
quite remarkable starting point which is an exceptionally fine way to begin.

In-so-far-as the “Traffic Wear” mentioned above is concerned, there
may be natural hazards occurring from traffic use patterns causing
exposures of organic or inorganic irregularities below Trail Snow Surfaces.
Keep sharp eyes out for evolving surfaces. It’s Spring Skiing and
these things happen.

Basically, there are only 2 weeks left in the regularly
scheduled Season. With 96/96 Open Trails open in
these closing phases, it’s a statistically above average
array of Terrain for this time of year and as such, is
worth all the effort you can make to take advantage of.
