T360 Late Evening Apres Ski Edit @ 10:29 P.M.

Freshly Falling Snow Fantastic Skiing, but...

Unfortunately, not many pic’s from today,
we think you’ll understand.

This one is from just about the brightest point in the day...

Please accept our apologies for late posting. We had
hoped to have Apres Ski up by 9:00 P.M., but that was
not possible as photo-processing was running at about
4 times the usual, per image, due to...

Too Much Snow!

For all the benefits of loads of big, fat, fluffy snowflakes
floating down, we are overjoyed to need to spend extra
time to try to get resolution.

We were also overjoyed with the performance today, and despite
the snowy weather imperfections, overjoyed to get a sample we
can show you here from a very etherial “Last Run” on Nansen.

In its own way, today at Tremblant was an exquisite, almost Ghostly
day. Vision was a challenge, but we were focused on safe, low speed,
high angle carving as you see above, so we think it’s fair to say the
vision was adequate if your speed was appropriate for the range of view.

The snow was falling in bands that were moving slowly across the Mountain
so there were times when you could see well ahead, but it could, and did
change in seconds.

Tomorrow will have all the snowy benefits, much of it groomed in,
so with a forecast “Sunny”, an easy -9C afternoon high temp, it really
should be an amazing Tremblant day.

When You Can Do This All Day,
On Virtually Every Groomed Run,
You KNOW You’re Having A Great Day!

Super Easy, Super Fast, Super Fun! (A)

Exceptional surface quality over all Skill Level groomed
terrain, made yesterday arguably the very best Carving
performance day of the season so far. These conditions
should not only hold, but escalate upwards with refinement
and increased trail Openings for the next 2 weeks.

If the 2 pic’s above seem a bit grainy or raw, that’s what you get
when you’re taking long Zoom’d Telephoto’s when it’s snowing.
Too bad, that’s a very happy problem we’re overjoyed to have!

The Skiing is simply superb for not only this early season,
but compared to any time of any season. For sure, open
terrain is still at “early”, but what is open is so, so fine.

Technically it’s still “Fall”,
but all you can see at Tremblant right now
is pure, Snow White Winter.

The picturesque Nature of Tremblant is not only stunningly
beautiful, but completely indicative of the overall presence
of real, genuine winter on an early scale that we do not see
every season. If you look at our Blog entry, Fall 2018, entitled
"26.0096% Snowier Winters at Tremblant?”, you will see that
so far, this seasons very rapid maturity is totally consistent
wth our theories about the increasing trend of very snowy
winters here at Tremblant, and furthermore, this is exactly
the kind of accelerated Winter we forecast.

When Regional Race Teams need to count on this early
training time for critically important conditioning and
technique advancement, there is only one place that
has the proven terrain that can literally produce World
Cup Gold Medal Champions... Tremblant.

New Open Terrain Development:

This is only one sample, non-the-less an important one,
Versant Nord, the North Side, “Duncan” (trail # 59)

The best way to speculate on what new terrain may be opened
in the near future is to scroll back to the last week or so of consecutive
dates in this forum and look at the “Snowmaking” icons in the Official,
Downloadable Trail Data we archive in each days reports. Snowmaking
has been occurring on a rotational basis so it’s not just what’s active
today, it’s also what’s been active recently.

Weather Notes:

It’s been snowing these big, beautiful, fat, fluffy,
snowflakes for hours. Thickly drifting down like little
parachutes of Ski and Snowboard joy, they are covering
everything in a mantle of Snow-White magic that is adding
to what you can already see here from yesterday. An absolutely
gorgeous day where you can only see ahead a few hundred feet
because there’s just soooo much snow in the air.
With a quiet wind, its simply, supremely, serenely, Fantastic.

Conditions Notes:

In the Groomed:

Abundant Fresh Natural Snowfall, integrated with a snowmaking
foundational base of superb, smooth, consistent Summit-To-Base
vertical and Wall-To-Wall coverage that is extraordinary for this
time period.

In the Au Natural:

Abundant early snowfall, but not yet at hazard free accumulated
depths, however, by 20 year averages, maybe 2 to 3 weeks ahead.
Caution is required on initial explorations and traffic patterns
can cause hazards to be exposed in some narrow or constricted
run-outs by the end of the day.

Overall:

Daily conditions are holding very high levels of durability
because there is very little traffic on the basis of per square
unit of open terrain, so there is just not much stress on any
of the surfaces.

It’s still Fall. There have been some warmer/windier weather
cycles that caused icy bits, but they are very very small in
relation to overall, and usually in recognizable patterns on
steeper pitches, over crests, or where traffic has been
concentrated. Bring Tuned Edges and you will have an
outrageously great December day that feels “Mid-Winter”
underfoot.

Page under evolving assembly, but the summary is
that by any historic metrics, we have an exceptional
start to this season. Not only is there an unusually
large square area of open terrain, but within that
area the consistent level of high quality surfaces
that are “Wall-to-wall”, and “Top-to-bottom” is
remarkable for this date.

“Last Minute” Tremblant trip planners should be
actively encouraged to go to Tremblant ASAP.

“Get Ready Alert” ... if your Tremblant Ski Holiday
is a few weeks away, go to the Gym, if possible,
and do as much Leg Work as you can. Support that
with a bump up in Protein intake. You’ll want to have
some muscle for this just so you don’t have to waist
any of it from fatigue.

Apres Ski report to follow, hopefully(and time permitting),
under construct by about 9:00 P.M.

they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
