102(*) Open Trails on the Windy Wild(**) Super Snowy White Out Slopes of #Tremblant .

-------------------- Mid-Day Update ----------------

REVISED open Trails to 79(*) due to adverse weather factors.
Archival data attached below.
--------------------------------------------------------

Here Is The Main Reason For The Excellence
You Will Find At Tremblant.

And... as important as it is...

Everything Else Is Detail.(#)

The pic above is less than 36 hours old and everything
it tells you about this winter at Tremblant is 100% Snowy accurate.

(#) We all know that ultimately, when it comes to a Ski Holiday,
even with snow/ski conditions as fine as they are, the difference
is in the details. This is where the “Main Reason” and the “Detail”
come together as they only can at Tremblant, to create those
experiences and indelible memories of a life-time.

When it comes to that little detail of a Ski Resorts infrastructure,
no one on the East Coast of North America does it as well as Tremblant.

If you can go, do it.

If you’re on the way, congratulations, you’ve made the right decision.

The dominant factor today is unquestionably Wind Speed.
The basic westerly orientation will probably have both
south and north tangents during the day, but no doubt,
Versant Sud, the South Side is going to feel the full facing
effects.

Keep in mind the wind speeds shown here are for Resort Base
Ground Levels, so velocity at the Summit could be as much
as double. If you apply that to the data below showing the
peak gust values, it’s not hard to see that safety issues could
develop with lift systems, not to mention Skier comfort.

Moving forward to the long range outlook below, we see
the return of more normal weather by tomorrow morning,
if the forecast holds. So far, it also looks good for the near-term
durability of winter conditions well into March.

Conditions Notes:

Clinically the vast majority should be in some form
of very fine to excellent because of the pre-existing
superb base. The whacky weather has no doubt
had effects, but not all of those effects are negative
considering the amount of new snow and the wind
direction that may have generated some significant
drifting.

Conditions newly effected most likely favour Experts
who are capable of both quick exploration, and the
consequent adaptations that allow them to take advantage
of zonally beneficial conditions. The Weather Network rarely
uses their “Drifting” icons, but they are there today for very
good reason and with the direction of force at West and
Sou-West, there could actually be some very interesting
powder accumulations generated by snow being driven
over the Summit to form backfill features on Versant Nord,
the North Side.

(**)Wind gusts between 120 to 150 KMPH reported in
adjacent region over the East end of Lake Ontario over
the past 24 hours are making their way to Tremblant today.

As we write this at 5:49 A.M. wind gust speeds here
with variable estimates of up to “only” 100 KMPH,
could be amplified by the Mountains shape as a ramp,
so we would not be surprised to see Lift Operations affected.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
