The 2 images Above/Below show “The Big Picture”,
and the “Detailed Picture” regarding the overall
conditions summary at Tremblant. We further
endorse everything we said in the original post
below regarding our conditions forecast as quite
accurate, adding in the use of the word “Glorious”
to further enhance the review of the days experience
because of the Super-Sunny Scenery!

Important Repeat From Original post Below:

"The Ski Conditions At Tremblant Are Superb."

We stand by that assessment as confirmed by the days Skiing with
a highlight on one specific reference in the original post to “More Softness”.
There was sufficient thermal energy to generate more surface softness
than yesterday. There were two main by-products. Number one, was
slightly higher levels of mid-to-late afternoon friction as the moisture
content in the top layers increased. Number two was the traffic generated
moguls within the softer zones. The size of the moguls was directly
proportional to the number of user/passages and not necessarily
proportional to steepness. There were steeper pitches that remained
very smooth all day, and... there was exceedingly excellent Spring Shred
Carving on them, with tremendous ability to control turn shape and speed
by utilizing the resistance as an offset to gravity. The predominant thermal
effects were at both lower base levels, but more intensely felt in the setting
sun over Soleil and Johannsen.

On the upper levels there was some persisting Winter Snow qualities that
had more sensitive grip, but 110% glide and speed.

We frequently post pic’s of Ski Technique we like and this above
is one of those cases. Note the centred, low and well balanced stance
over the skis with a forward leaning, compact, athletic posture. We have a
proprietary learning system, copy-write from 2008, we call the “Twisted
Arlberg” for a hybrid approach to using this classic Austrian stance, but
with a modern carving adaptation, to bring it forward for optimizing
utilization of current shaped ski designs of pronounced sidecut.

We Support The Tremblant Info.Ski Crews Because They Are
Your Very Best Source Of “Up To The Minute" Mountain Intel.

We are getting to the stage where the Open Trail List
can have variable Up’s and Down’s during daily Open
Hours due to Spring warmth that creeps in over the
next weeks. Info.Ski Crews are “Radio Controlled”,
and fully bi-lingual, so they have constant real-time
access to Mountain Op’s and can answer all your
questions on the spot!

Tomorrow: Too early to tell completely, but there is at least
some probability that at these very low, single digit temps
forecast at up to +4C, the precipitation they are predicting
could be All Snow over the Mountain, despite the rain Icons
in the projections.

Will We Be Right??? So far this season, we’re anecdotally
running at around 70-80% accurate with our Precip. forecasts,
so with those odds, we’re fairly confident, However... we could still be wrong.

The Ski Conditions At Tremblant Are Superb.

There are legitimate “Best Of Season” performance qualities
of coverage and smooth wall-to-wall 100% winter coverage
out there right this second. There will be some Tremblant Fans
that might even argue there are “Best Of Season’s” conditions,
meaning some select trails have the magic ingredients combined
to produce Ski experience of such excellence that Mountain
regulars do not recall them occurring on those trails at this level
of refined closeness to perfection, ever.

There are two primary reasons for this current state of
refined grooming excellence.

1) 572 cm’s/ 18.75 Feet of natural Snowfall... so far.

2) The Talent and Skills Of Tremblant Mountain Op’s
to optimize the natural resources with both early
season strategic snowmaking, PLUS the daily ongoing
sculpting, shaping, harvesting, re-distribution, levelling,
and smoothing of the combined total snow resources into
a durable groomed Alpine Trail Network of outstanding quality.

We are going to try to illustrate that with the following
two pic’s that are both from the same place.

Case Study: Summit Level “La Crete”, Trail # 2,
at the spot opposite the Summit Entrance to Vertige,
Zig Zag and Erik Guay. The background is over Versant
Nord, North Side Beauchemin Haut Upper, which you can
not see due to slope.

Firstly, the detail. In this POV, you can see 160cm’s Skis
and 120cm’s Ski Poles set against the trail edge created
by grooming operations that have sufficient natural snow
in this location to harvest this much trailside depth back
onto the trail for levelling and smoothing.

We do not think we have any archive shots from any previous
season showing this much harvested trailside depth on La Crete, ever.

Secondly, the “Big Picture” that puts this into locational and
spacial perspective.

All the Trailside snow that is evident in the first pic, has
been redistributed onto this trail and the result is both
level smoothness and depth that may be close to, if not
a record for attainment in any season.

The Skis and Poles were not touched or moved between
these two pic’s. All we did was take the first one at 90 degrees
to the trail direction, then back around to take the second one
looking down the decent pathway.

This is only one sample of hundreds you can find all over the
Mountain, where the exceptional amount of snowfall for this
season has facilitated extraordinary surfaces and depths of
trail base reserve.

How does the concept of “Natural Resources” apply to the
Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, and Un-Groomed, You Ask???

Here is everything you need to know...

Conditions Notes:

We are into that period of time where there can be
temps that cross over the Zero C mark twice per day
with warmer above Zero C/32 F, and below Zero C/32F
that can generate morning Icy bits.

This means that to take advantage of the entire day, you need
sharp edges for the mornings.

If you look closely at the 14 day forecast above, every single
one of them has the potential to exhibit this cycle of conditions
that are totally normal for Spring.

If you’re coming to Tremblant during this portion of the season,
you can get your Skis/Board tuned at the Ski Shop in the Chalet
Des Voyageurs, Versant Sud, South Side P1, Base Level, right
beside the Cabriolet Base. They have a great discounted overnight
rate, so you can drop them off at the end of any day and have
all the wonderful performance your Ski Holiday deserves for
First Tracks the next morning.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
