80(*) Open Trails on all 4 Open Sectors at #Tremblant .

On The Edge Of Winter.

A pic. from Saturday, rising up the Versant Edge Quad,
but for today, the meaning of the “Edge of Winter” is the
weather forecast breaking into the “Plus” C’s temps by a
projected 3 degrees. At least it’s only a short 6hr interval....
and, it’s only the 3rd day of Official Seasonal change, so from
more than one POV, it really is the "Edge of Winter”!

Versant Edge At Tremblant offers one of the most naturally snow-filled
sectors on the whole Mountain. Any survey of local Powder Hounds and
Hors Piste Fans will immediately confirm it’s often the Number 1 place
they hike up on to find depths and reserves that far exceed the stat. totals.

Swinging around to be properly facing up the lift line from the view above,
we try to make that point by the very obvious abundant natural snow in
the trees and the bush. At this moment, here is no other Sector at Tremblant
with this much all natural snow.

Weather Notes:

At the Sud/South Resort Base +3C means that with the typical
cooler elevation differential of a usual -4C, the Mountain will
literally be somewhere on the “Edge of Winter”, meaning a
reference to Zero C/32 F, the freezing mark, being the line
under which there’s no thawing. Due to the wind direction and
velocity, it is likely Versant Sud/South will see hints of very
light thaw. Is is also likely that Versant Nord/North, will see
not so much, and at Summit heights, maybe none.

Conditions Notes:

A mix of Early Winter and Late Fall surfaces that should
evolve during the day towards an increasing degree of
softness, starting at the Sud/South Base level, working up.

Due to the very brief 6 hr. span of the “+” value temps,
we do see this as anything more than a very minor blip
that will make for some “Spring-Like” fast fun for the
afternoon.

Tonights grooming should be more than capable of re-integrating
everything back to “Winter”, especially if you see Groomers
out on Johannsen after 8:00 P.M. or so, when the temps are
nicely headed back Sub-Zero C.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
