Conditions Notes:

With 11 cm’s of fresh snowfall, a nicely cool overnight low,
a complete Night-Shift of Grooming refinement, all the
co-factors are in alignment for some truly spectacular
conditions.

The technical reason today represents such extraordinary
potential is that as the result of witnessing 100’s of snowfall
events, 10cm’s is what we have generally identified as the
upper range of daily snowfall accumulation that can be
rendered into ideal rates of compaction by a single pass,
i.e., one night-shift, of the Tremblant fleet of 9K kg/20,000 Lbs.
Grooming/Packing Machines.

Concepts of Groomed/Un-Groomed Terrain Ideals:

As wonderful as getting anything above 10cm’s of snow
in one day is, for the groomed trail inventory, it is difficult
to pack that into mogul resistant firmness density, so surfaces
can be prone to the softness that traffic can carve up into moguls.
The deeper the single snowfall event accumulations are, the longer
it takes to render out density into what you might perceive or
describe as this ever so slight spongey effect that is there in the
initial compression of a groomed “dump".

At 11cm’s of fresh snowfall in the past 24 hours, today
therefore represents a significant probability of “Ideal”.

Any review of pages in this dated archive will show that
the really big snowfall events like 20 to 30 or more cm’s,
can take 2, 3 or more days of overnight grooming cycles
to render ideal compaction, so theoretically, and given a
choice, it could be argued that having 10 cm’s per day for
3 days would yield better, more user friendly daily groomed
trail surfaces than having 30 cm’s in one day.

Of course... in the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glades and all
other Un-Groomed Expert Terrain, the opposite could be
argued, as many legitimate Experts consider the large
single snowfall events as the “Holy Grail(s)” of the Skiing
experience.

At Tremblant360 we acknowledge both preferences, however
at Eastern North American Ski Resorts the majority of Open
terrain utilized by average recreational Skiers and Snowboarders
falls within the “Groomed” category, so that utility bias also needs
to be taken into account because it reflects the broader range
of use by the population attending.

Consequently, an important repeat:

At 11cm’s of fresh snowfall in the past 24 hours, today
therefore represents a significant probability of “Ideal”.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
