Too Easy Conditions ... Too Quiet weather... Where is everyone?
Below: This is a “Crowd Scene” forecast sample for today...
You’ll see some people off in the distance, at least at the Summit,
but other than that, for the most part, it will be just you and a friend
or two, the occasional other person headed off for the Sous Bois, and
that’s it.

Weather Notes:
This is one of those “Anything Is Possible” forecasts, as far as
the ratio of cloud to sun, or snow, or light or shadow. No matter
though, because at these “Warm” temps compared to recent
days of Kkkkool... it sort-of feels like a day at the beach... where
you are out of the wind. That pesky wind... with a Sou-Westerly
origin, it will be coming up to the Summit from over the Soleil
Sector and crossing towards Lowell T, so look for wind shelter
within the Lowell T./Beauchemin zone, as well as the La Griffe
side of the Expo Quad peak.
Looking ahead by a couple of days, the warm trend continues,
but hopefully, not to the point of too much. If the Resort Base
level touches Zero C, it will only be for a handful of mid-day
hours, and even then, there’s a good chance cooler Mountain
elevations will remain below zero. In our opinion there’s more
than enough cold into the base to keep it all feeling winter,
especially when you consider the -7C, -5C, -11C overnight lows
that will be helping to keep the entire depth of total Mountain
coverage stable.

Conditions Notes:
In the Groomed:
A near-ideal profile of mild winter weather with todays
incremental refinement in evolved grooming. The recent
multi day cold snap survives just below your feet today
and we think you’ll find a remarkable level of easy performance
on all rated skill levels of groomed today due to the optimized
compaction that only comes with several sequential days
of Mountain Crews night shifts. There is zero thermal stress
in the top layers, only very dense, very dry cold formed snow.
This is the type of snow that typically makes lousy snowballs
as the low internal humidity does not allow the snow crystals
to bind together very well with only human hand pressure.
With the pressure of a 20,000 Lbs. Groomer though, we typically
get what we call a “Mechanical Bond” that yields the kind of
density we think you’ll find so easy to have fun with all day.
In The Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glades, Moguls and all other Un-Groomed:
The snow just keeps on piling up and all these au natural zones
benefit, however, and this is the Expert Fun Part... there are
definite areas of deeper accumulations due to the wind induced
drifting that occurs over and around the 4 compas points
of the Mountains topographical contours. It is your mission,
should you choose to accept it, to go out and find all those
sweet spots.
