Picture This...

And “This”, is at Last Run !!!

You know it’s a light traffic day when you can still find
very sweet corduroy zones at the end of the day.

The traction on the Groomed Trail array is universally excellent.

The density of the snow is such that fresh edges still make a
fundamentally positive difference because they facilitate grip
at the highest levels of lateral turning force on steeper pitches,
however, at the same time there is also a high level of forgiveness
in the less sloped trails where any kind of side-slide technique can
be used.

Weather Notes:

Super easy at Zero C, and with any luck, just a degree or two
cooler up on the Mountains elevations.

Today is a day when you can appreciate the benefits of
the recent cold-snap that have left a very secure firmness
in the layers of the trail network base. So far, this firmness
has been translated into all-day mogul resistance under the
softness of the top layers. We think that delicate balance
will carry on for not only today, but until the temps drop back
down to more normal ranges.

Conditions Notes:

You can get away with un-tuned edges, but if you want to
experience near-ideal optimized carving edge hold, fresh edges
equal some of the highest levels of traction you will ever know.
It is no understatement to say that tuned edges make the
Mountains groomed trail surfaces come alive in the sense that
the absolute control you get allows you to navigate like a
Surgeon operates with a sharp scalpel.

Another analogy might be something like the difference between
taking your Ferrari to the Race Track with half-flat tires, as opposed
to properly inflated. The Race Track is the same surface either way,
and you could drive the car with half-flat tires, but obviously, the
utility of the cars performance capability will be vastly reduced with
semi-flatness, and enhanced with proper inflation. Same sort of thing
with Ski or Board edges.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
