You Should Be Racing Over To Tremblant...

A Mini 3-Pic. Case Study, using Versant Sud, South Side,

Race Kids have some of the very best technique you will see on the Mountain.
What is important in that observation is the amount of that technique that is
totally transferable to recreational Skiers of all levels.

It is not uncommon to see Racer Kids doing “Snowplow” maneuvers at the
Starting Gate, during Pre-Race Course Inspections, setting courses, dismantling
courses and we have even seen them in the middle of a Race descent, whipped
into action for an immediate speed correction. This proves beyond a shadow of
a doubt to us that this most basic Beginner movement is not only useful, but
necessary for your entire Ski-Life.

Additionally, the low, compact, forward inclined posture of a Kid Racer
is something every Recreational Skier can use more of. All the physical
movements of evolved Ski Technique from Beginner to Expert can be
realized and implemented quicker and more efficiently with this basic
athletic stance that should be every single Skier's foundation.

Just How Good Are Theses Kids???

Try putting a 15 Kilo Backpack on them...

They’re Still Super Quick, FAST!!!

Both the kids in these two Above/Below pic’s are carrying backpacks
we estimate at somewhere around 15 Kilograms, 30 + Pounds and
yet they still exhibit total control, totally correct postures, despite acting
as course Sherpa’s to get all the team gear down off the Mountain at days end.

Below: Here is an example of that Technique transfer to Recreational
Expert Skiers on exactly the same real-estate, literally within moments,
of the first two Racer pic’s:

-------------- Insert Update: -----------------

This is a T360 Fan Submitted Pic. from yesterday at last run.
We’d like to include it because we appreciate all Fan pic’s
and it’s a great sample of the spectacular panoramic vista’s
you get to see every sunny day at Tremblant. It’s exactly
the same today!

Conditions Notes:

Obviously very cool to start with, so if you’re out early,
the challenge will be to dress warmly enough for that
extreme and to then be able to shed layers so that you
don’t end up boiling in the vastly warmer temps by noon.
To a certain extent, zippered jacket vents may accommodate
most of that, but ultimately, shedding layers is better, just
to get rid of bulk.

The other option, “Plan B”, is to get up later, enjoy a relaxed
late Brunch, and go out when the temp’s are reasonable,
skip lunch and stay for Last Run. The Ski time can be exactly
the same, but the ease of utility is far better in evenness of
conditions experience. In terms of performance, the super-cool
effects of the overnight lows will benefit surfaces all day, so you
will not miss any of the great qualities of speed or glide on the
groomed, and the Sous Bois/Glades should remain light and dry
for days.

Bottom Line:

Another Day Of: “Average Is Excellent!!!"

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
