Imagine Whole Days Where Every Turn
Gets You This Performance.

That’s Tremblant Now.

Expanding the view outward, we can put the obvious level of
edge control from above, into a wider, total trail width perspective
below, where you can see how the quality of individual turn engagement
gets linked into an endless stream of fluid, rhythmic, turning sequences
that make up the perfect run. The wide open spaces you have to work
with are an absolute joy, especially when you begin to navigate the
rolling topography in a way that facilitates the unweighting phase of
turn initiation by using the natural crests along your descent line.

The remarkable part of this dialogue is that we are discussing the attributes
of a Green, i.e., a Beginner Trail above, # 95, Versant Soleil “Algonquin”.
This trail is a masterpiece of brilliantly simple design that can be shared
with equal enthusiasm between absolute Beginners and seasoned Experts
because it is gentle enough to accommodate the tentative exploration
of those just discovering the basics of first days of learning, yet simultaneously
offering Experts the ability to finesse the nuance of edge control when it is
safe to build velocity, as this trail comes alive with subtle topographical
contours that are only evident with a bit of speed.

The overall characteristics that we want to highlight in todays review
are “Versatility” and “Forgiveness”. In the Algonquin case above, the
versatility runs from Beginners upward. On the “Flip-Side”, there is
also versatility from Expert and Intermediate groomed terrain downward.
What that means is that due to “Fogiveness” or the ability of surfaces
to absorb little mistakes without grabbing edges or being too thick,
there is also versatility for lesser Skill Levels to safely try increased
challenge without undue fears.

To further illustrate this versatility, we submit the 2 pic's. below,
taken from the overhead rising TGV Quad Chairlift, of the
Summit pitch of Versant Sud/South side Trail #18 McCulloch.
We think in this first one, it’s fairly obvious that the surfaces here are
providing a secure but easy pathway of very controllable descent quality.

This second McCulloch Summit Pitch scene is a bit on the fuzzy focus side,
however, but as a spontaneous Zoom-In action shot, we feel it is 100% pin-sharp
on illustrating the lateral turning grip performance these surfaces can deliver
for genuine Expert front-side carvers.

All four photographs above illustrate the current level of performance
versatility in almost the entire range of Groomed terrain from Beginners
to legitimate Experts at Tremblant right now, and for the foreseeable future.

While this performance review is fundamentally important to the Skiing
experience, it does not nearly come close to acknowledging the magnificent
Laurentian Scenery that is a Hallmark of the total Tremblant experience.
For that, you need to lift your eyes towards the Heavens on these sunny days
when the vistas are Post Card perfectly beautiful.

Weather Notes:

Nippy cool at the Resort Base level this morning, however
there is actually a Temperature Inversion Factor to the
Summit levels that make it a bit warmer up there by about +4 C.
It’s not uncommon, and on a genuine Winter day, even welcome!

Conditions Notes:

The reliable, consistent, virtually seamless quality of the groomed
Trail Network surfaces are what make both great ski days and great
ski holidays. This is genuine, authentic, pure winter. We rejoice
in the unique quality of the superb performance that is universal
across the entire array of the groomed trail array. Beginners to Experts
will all get the very same benefits, easy control, easy speed and
the tremendous satisfaction that is derived from absolute control confidence.

In the Sous Bois, Hors Piste, Glades, and Un-Groomed, we think
today should see some benefit from the deep overnight cool that
may cryogenically freeze-dry humidity out of the bush snowpack.
If we are right, the entire Open Sous Bois/Glade Trail zones should
render out far lighter feeling depths with less heaviness and easier
gravitational pull on slopes.

want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
