Since 1939 when Lowell Thomas came to #Tremblant,
New Yorkers have been coming here to find real, authentic Winter, right up to today.

Last Run Choices.

Two Generations.

When you have generations of local experience, you can consider
any number of options, but you choose a wise combination of
safe challenge and fast smooth fun. Today, that’s Versant Sud/South Side,
trail # 12, Erik Guay.

Actually, there were great signs of Skiing/Boarding all over the Mountain
so what you see below are only a handful of examples. Smooth and fast
were the common elements and as long as you were within appropriately
matched terrain challenge to your realistic skill levels, you simply could not
make a bad choice.

Pop Quiz: If you had “xxxx xxxxx”, it was one of the
Top, Front-Side Carving days of the season.
Fill In The Blanks(#).

Everything we’ve ever written about the residually retained cold
in the mass of the Mountain acting as a stored refrigerant that
supports a stabilized base for many later season weeks was
evident today. Great traction in the top layers was almost
completely mogul resistant while still soft enough to render
phenomenal carving edge-set performance. The substrates
remain a totally solid support for wall-to-wall, summit-to-base,
winter grade coverage.

It’s a super mild, all winter, very easy day in the forecast.
We hope to see YOU on the slopes!

Here is 50% of what you need to know about

(@) It’s often said that a good picture is worth a thousand words, so figure it out,
then go skiing at Tremblant as soon as you can get your butt over here.
Super easy temperatures and 100% full winter coverage.

The Rest Is All Detail.

(#) We frequently use this “Proof Of Snow” to reinforce several
main concepts. 1) There is a TON of snow in the Sous Bois/Bush.
2) All that snow accumulation has been integrated into the groomed
trail network and is therefore symbolic of the overall excellence in the
Mountains entire base quality. 3) We are literally “Amazed” that after
weeks of guest visits that count in the 10’s of thousands, maybe even
100’s of thousands, that there are still untracked, fresh, never had humans
go there yet, descent lines within the Open Sous Bois/Glade zones.
4) You don’t need fancy Mega-Rocker “Fat” Skis to enjoy excellent, total
fun access to the Sous Bois. Our old but very well maintained 160cm’s
Slalom Race Skis work great and we invite you to come for a run over the
exact spot pictured above with us to prove all of this. 5) This is real, this is
Tremblant right now.

Basically, it was snowing everywhere and/or somewhere,
over Tremblant all day yesterday.

If you look closely at the ground/boot level of the person with the “Peach”
coloured jacket, you will see a snow dusty appearance there and that was
actually the wind pushing an immense amount of the fallen snow up the
trail here. This phenomenon generated some really fun and surprisingly deep
accumulations where the topographical contours allowed sheltered zones for
the snow to settle in.

Scale that “Drifting” concept up to the size of the whole Mountain and
you’ll get an idea of how much fun it was to explore all 4 corners of
Tremblant’s footprint. Fabulous fun to just have your very own adventure
on every run!

Below:

As Usual... What’s not so good for photography is great for Ski/Board conditions:

We’re putting this one in to specifically illustrate the benefits of
wind-induced drifting. What you see above is only one of a continuous
line of snow squall fronts moving in from the Sou-West, the left-hand
side of the frame.

In less than 2 minutes, it was hard to see more than 50 metres
and it snow’d intensely for about 15 minutes or so. What’s very
special and very unique though, is how the wind quickly shaped
little contour deposits of up to about 10cm’s projecting out
from all the left side trail edges in this sector where the trail-side
tree line created a back-fill effect as the wind pushed overhead.

In this way, the entire Mountain generated a superbly fun and unique
“Fingerprint” and there is only one way you could have appreciated
how special that was, you just need to be here.

Repeat Summary:

Go If You Can.

More in Morning. Early Bird 4:27 A.M. Post to accommodate site logistics.

Weather Notes:

Please Note the two week overnight low temps are all sub-zero C.

Daily temp. oscillations below, then above zero C/32 F, mean
there can be very firm or icy bits in the mornings, so edge
tuning is a critical element in all day utility as well as all day
safety. See below for applicable utility notes.

Please Note: We are getting an increase in the questions
regarding potential impacts on Skiing from the Global
spread of the COVID-19 Virus. At this stage we have not
had any Official notice, but we will promptly include any
info. we receive. So far, Canada has had less than other
nations so we’re keeping fingers crossed for safe conduct
moving forward.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
