You don’t have to imagine at all...
If you’re here, this IS your entire day at Tremblant.

In the case of Versant Sud/South Side McCulloch pictured above and below, it
has obviously been used as a Race Course and the safety barrier netting has been
left in place. That’s probably a good sign it will be race dedicated again as Race safety
netting is usually removed when an event is over. In the mean-time, this trail has been
Open to the public and all the hard work of Mountain Crews to immaculately prepare it
for Racers has been there for everyone to enjoy.

Rising up on the TGV Quad and turning back for the Summit overview:

Important Repeat:

There Are Many Significant Zones Of Technical Excellence
In All Categories Of Groomed And Sous Bois/Hors Piste.

Here is only one of dozens of groomed examples:

Versant Nord/North Side, Trail # 57, “Devils River”

We commented on the legitimate excellence of this trail
in last nights Apres Ski and we think it could well be a
refined notch up again today.

There was not so much as a single snowflake out of place on this immaculate
super snow white amazingly user friendly trail yesterday.

A confident Beginner with good Snowplow style braking skills could ski this trail
with ease. A seasoned Expert could generate over 1G of lateral carving/turning
energy here for as long as Quad Muscle could support the highest levels of athletic
fitness output. If you want to talk about “Versatile”, you don’t need any more than that.

An Absolute “Gem du Jour” we said last night, and the thought it could be better
yet today is just one clue into the potential for the whole Mountain that
this excellent example is symbolic of.

Additionally, we waited here for people to give the pic. scale for about 4 minutes and
no traffic ??? WHERE ARE YOU???

If you miss this, you’re missing a seasonal high-point.

----------------- 10:30 A.M. Insert Updates: --------------------

The Web Cams are temporarily off-line for an unknown duration.
The following are Condition/Traffic observations from an Old Mt. T. Village
hillside vantage point. The observable trail traffic so far, is very light for a
sunny Saturday.

Below:
The only observable lift traffic from this Old Village POV is the TGV Quad Base.
(This lift is just off to the lower left corner of the frame view above.)
We would have to say based on pervious weekend experience compared to
this actual real-time observation, that when TGV traffic is within the corral
feeder lines @ 10:30 A.M., it is not excessively busy. We would estimate
a wait time of 3 minutes or less.

Conditions Notes:

From Yesterday, A Review Insight For Todays Conditions:

This below from yesterday, is an extremely important component of
understanding for the the very positive qualities of the conditions we
think you’ll find within all 4 corners of Tremblant today.

The “Dessert Sand Waves" Wind Effect:

The skier in red you see above has arms outstretched because it was fun to
feel the immense wind force coming straight at you to the point that it came
very close to completely offsetting gravity, bring you to a full stop, as you came
over the top crest on Rope Tow, headed down under the Lowell Thomas Quad.
Over on the top centre of this wide angel frame, you can see the Expo Quad/Peak.

What is important about the “Dessert Sand Waves” of wind driven snow is firstly,
how light and dry the snow is. Snow will never form these wind waves unless it is
very dry “Sand-Like” at close to zero internal humidity. That dryness yields superb
edge-set traction. Secondly, only Mother Nature has the capability to spread this
wonderful snow so equally well distributed over the Mountains entire Alpine Snow
Sports Trail Network. In that regard, it was a most unusual day because there were
these types of dry wind blown snow waves over all 4 corners of Tremblant.

Every single compass point experienced significant up-hill wind force yesterday.
It was amazing to circulate around the Mountain and find yourself facing into
strong winds on every single sequential sector descent. It was never unpleasant
because temps were “Warm”, just Sub-ZeroC to begin with, but the real benefit was
the constantly refreshed trail surfaces that were in many cases, almost magically
erasing previous skiers tracks and leaving clean smooth surfaces to put your own mark on.

Look again at the pic. above, even though there was constant traffic here, you can’t
hardly see any tracks because they were simply being erased in seconds after crossing over.

With the “Cool” -15C overnight, all of those fantastic dry “Winter” snow characteristics
of satin smoothness over the groomed, and dusty lightness in the Sous Bois/Glades,
should be automatically the most beneficial and universally applied qualities over every
single square inch of the entire Mountain. So, we think today is going to be one step
upwards in universal quality because the wind has calmed, and with the overnight grooming
cycle, all the goodness that was there yesterday should now be a wonderfully blended
combination that could only be better.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
