possibilities of reopening. We will make every attempt possible to get
additional Information As Soon As Possible.

REVISED Open Trails to 64(*).

Archival Data Attached Below.

---------------- 8:21 A.M Update ----------------------

REVISED Open Trails to 56(*).

Archival Data To Be Attached Below.

Preamble Quotation:

"A beautiful weekend is waiting for you at Tremblant!

Due to the presence of strong gusts of wind, the Express Gondola
will be closed today. We strongly suggest our skiers drive directly
Versant Nord today.
Nonetheless, a beautiful weekend is in the forecast
at Tremblant! The mountain needs extra attention after Mother Nature’s
temperature swings! Our grooming team will concentrate their efforts
on the core of the mountain, and for this reason, many trails will open
progressively, and the Versant Edge will remain closed for the day.
Due to the presence of strong gusts of winds, the snow conditions,
trail count and lift operations may change during the course of the day.”

----------------- 11:39 A.M. Update: -------------------

Evidently the windy weather factors cleared off enough
to justify the re-opening of the Gondola this morning.

More to follow as time permits.
Thanks for your visit and Go Skiing At Tremblant
if you can!

Weather Notes:

We are pleased to report that at least the “Wet” aspects the adverse
weather that was indicated for today have moved well to the east and
no longer seems to constitute any kind of impact here at Tremblant.

What we are left with is the potentially disruptive Wind component.

It also seems that we were maybe too optimistic about the 7 hours
of indicated snow flurries in the hourly forecast yesterday as there
is no addition to the accumulation total this morning. Well, at least
there was none of the rainy potential either, so in balance we have
to be happy with the dryness, things could have been a lot worse.

The overall sunny forecast we now have should produce an excellent
and very photogenic day on the slopes!

Conditions Notes:

Caveat: At The Herein Noted 5:42 A.M.Time Of This Doc. Availability:

The preamble in the archive copy of the Official PDF Doc. below
states that the Edge Sector will be off-line, however as you can see,
the Soleil Sector is not shown as open. We think this initial version
may be updated to show Soleil as Open, in which case we would
estimate the “Open Trail” list to expand to roughly 64 based on the
groomed trails that have been recently available there. Please Note that
the Sous Bois/Glades/Hors Piste/Un-Groomed categories of trails are
likely to continue with restrictions for safety and preservation.

Please Note the “Progressive” listed Open’s. We do expect to see
all of those cleared for takeoff, however that is still dependant on
Ski Patrol inspections for safe utility.

Check with Tremblant Mountain Info.Ski Crews at the Summit
Gondola Offload Zone for up-to-the-minute Open Trail availability.

With more specific reference to Trail Surfaces:

From an overall perspective, the general situation is still one
of the oscillating temperatures above/below Zero C/32F and
how that can result in “Firm” mornings and “Soft” afternoons.

In the case of today, that could means highly variable degrees
of firmness, and some icy tendencies. This mix is maybe going
to be more noticeable on the Sud/South Side where the combination
of solar energy and warmer air can work on facing snow surfaces.
The more shadowed Nord/North side could end up quite different in
feel, tending to be of a more granular nature. Without direct facing
sun it’s just not likely to soften up as much.

All that being said, Versant Soleil may end up being the “Sweet Spot”
today, especially this afternoon. If the sun has enough direct focus,
there are good chances for some very fine shred quality in the top
layers there.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
