12(*) Open Trails on the Sud/South, Nord/North Sector Slopes at #Tremblant.
Conditions Notes:
Fast Fun.
You’re Not Dreaming... It’s Just Foggy...
And The Fun Is Easy For Several Reasons.
First of all, it’s soft. There’s no grinding or scraping or jarring.
Secondly, it’s warm out. For skiers, anything around Zero C/32F
feels warm, if not hot when you’re cranking off high energy turns
for a few hours.
Thirdly, the “Crowd” is not a crowd. Attendance is good, but spread
out over such a vast acreage, and with a frequently foggy atmosphere,
you feel quite alone, virtually the entire day.
It really is quite dreamy.

Hook Up And GO!
Focus On The Snow.
Mostly because that’s the only thing in focus, except for one
other intangible quality which is the feel of softness. We were
going to discard this image, but what comes through is a very
good impression of the overall soft carving speed capability in
the trail surface that is common across the open array. When
you examine the snow in focus just behind and to the right of
the skier, plus the obvious sharpness of the tracks being left, you
can clearly see all you need to know about the high performance
grip levels at Tremblant.
With the Global Covid-19 pandemic, there are unusual and strange new
ways we have to do some things to get here, or to get a ticket or pass to get
out on the slopes. So, there are a few challenges just to get to the point that
you’re standing at the base of the lift with Skis or Board on your feet... but,
Once out on the trail though...
Sometimes it really does feel like your dreaming, seemingly floating
through space at high speed with nothing but the super soft snow
underfoot and the almost surreal blur of the fog shrouded background
silently framing your view as you descend over wide boulevards of white magic.
We would call Opening day a resounding success and there is no reason
to think today and tomorrow will be anything less.
Obviously, the photography is a huge challenge with such an obscured
environment. The loss rate of pic’s taken to anything salvageable is over
70%, but that has nothing to do with how much fun it is to find this much
traction and speed virtually every run you take.
What you can see below is the foggy part, what you can’t see is
how smooth, fast and fun this is.

What we will tell you is that it is definitely worth
every effort you can make to be here. After a world of
Covid hurt, the freedom experience of the open slopes
is liberating.
New Season Opening Highlights:
A Noteworthy Level Of
Early Terrain Development
Wall-To-Wall Examples:
- Nansen Haut/Upper + Pitch
- Upper Alpine
- Beauvallon Haut/Upper, Bas/Lower
- P’tit Bonheur
- Beauchemin Bas/Lower
To have this scope of square area available for Opening Weekend
is a remarkable achievement, especially considering the recent
and totally normal somewhat warm late Fall weather.
On top of that, attendance was fairly limited for Opening Day
yesterday, so 90% of the time you had the entire trail width
to carve out your best lines. The traction and fun levels are both
high and it was not long before those summer-dormant quad
muscles were sending “Help” and “Take A Break” messages to
your brain that was otherwise a bit distracted with enthusiasm.
Weather Notes:
ADVANCE ADVERSE WEATHER NOTICE:
Applicable to this coming Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
