The Point Is:

If you use a better camera, you can get a better a better picture, but...

No Camera Known To Exist Can Effectively Convey The Majestic Beauty
Of Being In This Scene Yourself.

60(*) REVISED Open Trails.

Archival Data Attached Below.

--------------------------------------------------

We were out by a day on “60"....

Back on Dec. 30, we wrote that it would not surprise us
to see the Open Trail Count get to between 55 to 60 within
48 hours, so we got the 48hr/55 Trail bit right by yesterday,
but it took an extra day to hit the 60 mark this morning. No
worries, it’s all headed in the right direction, and with really
easy temperatures too.

Weather Notes:

We don’t think you could find a more linear stretch of “Mild Winter”
than you’re seeing evolve here now and throughout this forecast
period. Too easy for dressing for outdoor activity, not to mention
too easy if you’re a regional commuter that needs to use your vehicle
as a base of operations during Covid-19 Resort logistical restrictions.
We’re just thankful, and keeping fingers crossed, that we don’t see or
expect spikes upward in the temp values. Of course, that could change
at Mother Natures whim, but so-far, so-good.

Conditions Notes:

It’s a bit difficult to predict the traffic scenario’s possible for
the New Years Weekend in a Global Pandemic with a Regional
Lock-Down order in place. To begin with, the Lock-Down
applies to Non-Essential businesses with INTERIOR retail
or service spaces. We are Very, Very Fortunate that “Skiing”
is an OUTDOOR pursuit, so currently, in Quebec, we are exempt.

Judging by the density you’ll find out on the trails, the traffic
is light. Oh sure, it can be busy at the Summit, as the almost
literal hub in the wheel where lifts converge, and trails diverge,
but almost as soon as you descend from that starting point,
all of a sudden, you can find yourself virtually alone.

The next factor in “Busy” is the possible lift line situations
you may find. The Covid-19 protocols require 2 metre distancing
between the collector lanes entering the lift upload platforms,
so it does not take a big crowd to use up a lot of real-estate.
With the additional spacial demands of the social distancing
required to ride the lifts themselves, i.e., max. 2 singles,
except for immediate family bubbles, it ends up using a
lot more chairs and Gondola cars to move any given number
of people. The end result can be that even with relatively low
trail density, the lift lines can take longer to get through.

We urge all Tremblant Guests to be patient in the lift lines.
All the distancing in the lines is necessary to ensure we
can continue to ski at all, so a bit of a wait is a very small
price to pay for the privilege of any and all descents you can
be here for.

From a technical perspective, on the entire Groomed array,
if you take the bit about out on the trails "you can find yourself
virtually alone”, combine that with all the new snowfall over the
last 3 days, we think you’ll find nothing other than “Very Fine”
to “Excellent” across all groomed skill level ratings. Three night
shifts of grooming should be rendering out very even surfaces
and there should be very few icy bits, if there are any at all.

In the Sous Bois, Bush, Hors Piste, Un-Groomed group, there
are more wild-cards, but conditions are generally improving
with the proviso that it’s still not mid-winter coverage, so caution
on all explorations is still fully warranted.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
