A Snow White Winter Wonderful Day.

It’s not a fancy action shot, but a simply beautiful sample of
the naturally magical scenes you’ll be able to find all day.

Conditions Notes:

While the Official total of new snowfall is registered at 14 cm’s, there
will be considerable differences in both plus and minus contour shaping
due to wind direction delivery effects. Frontal facing zones over wide open
trail expanses may have less, and typically, lee-side sheltered zones will
have drift-in deposits of more. You may logically conclude that Experts
will be prioritizing the discovery of the latter.

We now begin to see a wider diversity between Groomed and Un-groomed
trail categories as the outright number of open trails increases overnight.
In the Un-groomed Expert category, like our above pic.sample, Versant
Nord/North side Le Tunnel, the initial conditions will be very fine, however
as the day goes on and traffic shapes this descent, you can expect some
natural hazards to become evident. This is not yet mid-February accumulations
so care and caution are still required on all Hors Piste/Un-groomed explorations.

In the Groomed array, you can expect to find many trails with enough soft snow
top layers exhibiting tendencies to generate small mogul formations as traffic
wear evolves during the day. The ideal depth of new snowfall for a single pass
of grooming compaction efficiency is about 10 cm’s, so with 14 cm’s and
drifting, there will be some areas that will respond with higher levels of
refinement after the night-shift tonight, but conversely, where the wind
pushed snow around over wide open spaces, there may be many zones of
all day mogul resistance durability. The point is that both Beginners and
Intermediates need to default down one level of steepness challenge for
all initial explorations in order to confirm safe passage. Mogul formations
will be directly proportional to steepness where accumulations are greatest.

Please Note: We urge all in attendance during this busy Holiday time period
to be extremely patient when uploading at lifts. In the midst of a Global
Covid-19 Pandemic, distancing in lines is a critical element in reducing
transmission risks. What we have seen, for examples, are some folks
rushing into the lines, stopping, then beckoning their slower group members
into barging, or otherwise skipping past others in line to meet up. Either that
or they rush in, stop, and motion others to pass them in line while they wait
for stragglers. Form your “Bubble” groups safely OUTSIDE the Q’s. Skiing is a
privilege that should not be taken for granted when Government Regulators
are implementing Covid-19 “Lock-Down” policies in many jurisdictions.

Random Conditions Observations:

Please Note:
A scan of these Forums for similar dates in the archived history record
will show that we have frequently included random Web Cam observations
for Holiday periods to give future readers insights into weather and
traffic conditions. Do not assume that it will always be busy because that
is not always true. There are many examples, like this one today, that show
relatively light traffic.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
